Not bad not amazing. Like so many places these days they forget to put salt in the salt potatoes, NY salt potatoes are supposed... to be salty! Overall flavors were solid otherwise. Really good brisket! Portions are unacceptably small though. The sandwichesare pretty much just bun/bread. A few tweaks and this place could be really really good. Read more

Nice people, fun atmosphere... food was a bit off. Had burnt ends and they were mostly fat and not caramelized, brisket was... mostly fat and hardly edible, mac n cheese was gritty, beans were good as was the pulled chicken. Not a fan and bummed becausewe love to support local joints. Read more

One of the best BBQ placs around. Worth any drive you javelin to make to get there. Great atmosphere cool cabin feel interior... with alot of seating outside as well. The only downfall I find with the place is you order at window and they call your name topick up. So no waitress (I'm a little lazy) Absolutely love the place alot of food for a reasonable price. Highly recommend. Read more

We just went here for the first time. The food was DELICIOUS! I had the half chicken with Mac and cheese and corn bread. I also... ordered the yellow and white bbq sauces which were amazing. Initially, the process of ordering seemed extremely strange. We hadour whole group standing in what little space they had for a line to order at a window. Also, you don?t order drinks with yourfood. You have to go up to the bar to order drinks which could be weird if the bar is full of patrons and you need to get drinksfor 5 or 6 people. Once we figured it out, the food definitely made up for the confusion, but nonetheless it was stillconfusing. If you?re not a bar goer or are trying to feed a family, I recommend just ordering takeout. Don?t miss out on theyummy food, but choose your battles when deciding to go for dine in. Read more

Kind of difficult to navigate for first timers. There is no table service. Between the band playing making it difficult to... hear what we needed to do and having an elderly family member with me we felt a tad confused what to do at first, but otherpatrons pointed us what to do to order and where and how to bus your table after. First, order drinks at the bar and pay, thenorder food at the window after ringing a bell to call for service. You order and pay at the window. Once food is ready you arecall on a PA system. The two things we ordered they were out of so we had to both make a second choice. All in all, the foodmade up for being a tad confused at first. I ended up with the pulled chicken and the other person had the 1/2 ribs. The BBQwas really good. Also great side choices. I really liked the MAC salad and hand cut fries. Plastic silverware can also beexpected. Not being able to have the 1/2 chicken forced me to do the pulled chicken, which was a great thing. I would neverhave ordered that, but it was so easy to eat, and will probably order it that way instead of having to pull off the bone. Nowthat I know how the system works I will know what to do next time. Just a bit quirky for first timers. Especially if you areexpecting to be waited on. We will be back and will be pros at how we do The Pit! Live music is great to have too! Read more
