I always thought it hilarious that there are two Maveriks across the street from each other. But they're "different" (however... much a Maverik is always a Maverik). The staff here are really friendly, and the place is bigger on the inside, meaning don't beconfused by the seemingly smaller Maverick on the South side. It's got everything you need, and then some. What I don't get, is why there are 2 gas stations, from the same company, that are across the street from each other....... regardless, I like this place. I never stepped inside, because all I needed was some ethanol free gas, because my tank wasalmost empty. I was the only car in the lot, and the gas pump worked well. Read more

I used to give this location a 5 *, but as of the last 3-4 months you guys morning crew is not keeping up with what the old... morning crew could do. I drive past 1 holliday and 1 chevron before I get to your store where I liked the coffee but between7-8am your coffee is usually out of what I want. Your new self checkout needs a full-time employee and should be on that emptyside of your store as a separate line. KEEP 4 REGISTERS OPEN WITH 4 PEOPLE TO RUN THEM. Came to this Maverick on Thanksgiving to get a few food items and 2 beers. My daughter who is 21 was out getting gas. She then... came in to grab her a soda. She went to the register with me, mind you at no time did she touch any beer nor went into anycooler where beer was and the guy hassled her for her ID. First of all you can have your child with you to purchase beer at thestore it?s completely legal. Second him and the manager were very rude. Instead of my daughter going back out to the car to gether ID I told her to just wait in the car, still they were rude and hesitant to sell me the 2 beers!! The manager needs to learnthe law!!! While pumping the gas the video will not stop playing, which is too bad, because otherwise this would be a 5-Star review. Not... sure who gave them the idea of marketing a variety of useless products during the filling of my tank. I mean, I'm looking tojust get a good deal, no gas on my hand, and move on. Inside the Maverick is the "cadillac of gas stations", and you cannot gowrong with the Pork Rib bundle - YUMMY. Cold drinks, great donuts, and staff that you can tell is loving to be there! I come here quite often due to the location of this convenience store - as it is close to where I reside. It's not a great gas... station but not necessarily a bad one either. A lot of my experiences here depend on whether or not fountain drink dispenser isworking properly and what kind of mood the clerk who checks me out happens to be in on a given day (I shop here almost everymorning). I usually don't take it personally if I'm treated poorly here occasionally when I'm checking out. Minimum wage inthis state is a joke and I know that workers here (at this Maverik in Sandy) aren't paid that well to begin with - and can't bemaking much more than what minimum in this state is - so it is what it is. I'm giving them two Stars instead of one because I like Maverick the company its self, this was my experience... I walked in to... prepay for fuel for my car and the woman working the counter was wearing dark makeup and I complimented her on it because Iliked the way it looked, anyways after giving her my compliment she looked at me and said you look quote-unquote "high". And myfirst response was just shock. This isn't my first time having problems with their customer service. I woke up at 5:30 thismorning and was running errands all day and forgot to take my contacts out last night so they were gooey and irritating my eyesso I looked tired and my eyes were probably a little red from the irritation of my contacts. I worked in customer service forseveral years before getting my degree, for me to give someone a compliment and for them to reply back that I look "high" isn'tvery friendly customer service. I also had an incident with a different woman working there that thought my ID was fake. Alsotheir gas prices said $2.29 today when in fact when I paid for regular fuel, which is of course the cheapest fuel you canpurchase, it was actually $2.53 a gallon. Their prices were wrong and their customer service is awful. I help run the anti-drugprogram at Salt Lake Community College and also helped rewrite it last semester to better the awareness of the opioid epidemicin the country, so for someone to say that I look high after I just gave them a compliment was quite a slap in the face. Their customer service in my experience has beenabsolutely awful, and looking through other reviews I'm not the only one that has had a bad experience with employees treatingus like we are less than human.
