Reviews for Thai Nigiri Restaurant in Sandpoint, ID
This restaurant is not open per the hours on the website. We've been trying for 2 years to get into this place and this is the... first time we went there and it was actually open. Others tell us that they close without notice. So call before you go down tomake sure they're open. I had a tuna roll and yellow tail nigiri. The spicy edamame and cucumber salad were both delicious. Thedownfall with the entrees for both me and my wife was the very small, very small portions of fish. I realize this is a Thai foodrestaurant we had heard that they serve sushi so we gave it a try. It should be the last time we go there for sushi but we willtry again to taste the Thai food. Service was very good. I was a little concerned when I went into the bathroom is it wasfilthy. The ceiling filter was clogged and the baseboards were dirty. The sushi rolls and nigiri were small but tasty. The otherproblem with their sushi menu is that almost everything has crab and or sriracha. Read more
Our first choice was closed, so we went here. Let me just say, this is by far the worst Thai food I've ever eaten in a... restaurant. Pad Thai was a joke, resembled no Pad Thai I've ever eaten. The panang curry was so watery, lacked real flavor--usemore paste man--and the veggies should have been much smaller bite sized pieces. Basically all dishes have larger veggie chunksto make it appear your getting something when you really aren't. Orange chicken was dismal, I've had this dish at many places, and each is unique, I don't even know what the hell we got, but it wasn't orange chicken and it didn't have any orange flavoreither. Boba on menu, but none were made that day. We make boba at home so it's not like it's a cumbersome task to make abatch. All-in-all Poor Execution, struggling wait staff, watched other tables suffer mixed orders. I'd avoid this place alltogether! We will never go back for sure! Read more
Everyone's food was excellent! From the sushi roll, to the pad Thai, to the lava bowls, it was delicious, perfectly prepared,... and plentiful portions. Service was cheerful and swift, and the price was VERY reasonable. Atmosphere is adequate, the onlyweak point, but everything else more than makes up for it. Highly recommend this restaurant, and highly recommend you make areservation on Friday and Saturday nights. You won't be disappointed. Read more
We had to wait for more than 30 min after ordered for our sushi. We got the sushi deluxe and for the price of 50$ we feel like... we should have gotten more food that two special house rolls and 6 pieces of nigiri.... Read more
Food here continues to become more bland. The last time I went for sushi, which was nearly a year ago, the rolls were small,... bland, and just, "meh". The Japanese Lasagna roll I had this week, was extremely bland; I was just eating a texture - no flavor.Good presentation as the roll itself looked awesome, just no real flavor. The yellow curry was extremely bland, and the curryitself was watery. A pale yellow without any real flavor or spices. The beef in the curry was tender - which I appreciated. Therice was good. Hate to say that I make a better curry at home. I love eating curry at restaurants, as I get to experience thereal, authentic taste that I can't recreate at home. Not the case here - my at home version was better. Thai ice tea wasgood! Was the food bad? No. Was it great? No. It seems really generic. Our waitresses were amazing! Very friendly andattentive. I've gone here twice and the food here is excellent. They have a lot of different style of dishes and variations of each style.... When they have sushi available, it is very good. I personally recommend the Alaskan Roll; it is unique and tastes very fresh andbright. Each time I've went here the service has been different. The first time they lost one of the dishes and we had to wait along time for it. The second time they were quick, very friendly, and helpful, so I think the first time was a fluke, and if yougo before the dinner rush the service is very quick. This is a great contrast to all the other restaurants in Sandpoint. Read more
Wonderful little restaurant. We had sushi for the main course - our favorite rolls so far are the Baked Salmon Roll, Baked... Yellowtail Roll, and Sandpoint Roll, though we weren't disappointed in the other rolls either. We had the fried cheesecake fordessert - this was delicious! Really rich, but perfect when shared. We started with Crab Rangoons, and these were just ok.. Wealso had a Kona golden ale that we've previously only had in bottles, and they have it on draft - much better. ???? I would say4 stars on the food, and the 5th star for service. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and made our meal even more enjoyable. Wewill be back! *Agree with another reviewer there is better sushi in Coeur d'Alene, but love being able to get pretty decentsushi without having to drive further. * Read more
Food was decent, I had the red curry and it hit the notes of red curry but it was very sweet! Not sure if it was because I... didn't specify the spice level but it was yummy regardless. My hometown has a ton of authentic Thai restaurants and this felt alittle bit more "American" in regards to flavor/spice, but worth a visit regardless! Food was yummy and our service was great, but it's not the Thai food I'm used to personally. I'll try out more of the menu next time. ???? Read more
