Wonderful, festive, but low-key Caribbean atmosphere, sure to put you in a good mood. We've been going there for years, and... it's become one of our favorite places. The food is varied, delicious, and the presentation just adds to the appeal. Thecalamari is better than any other place we've had it, and the cowboy steak is an unforgettable blend of tastes and textures. And then there's the sangria! The prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly. If you haven't had the pleasure ofvisiting Whipper Snapper, give yourself a treat. You won't be sorry! Read more

Had dinner here a couple nights ago with friends. We started with the beet salad, which was terrific. Then we shared the fish... tacos, which were fishy tasting and full of lettuce. Do not recommend. Our friends had the jerk chicken which was very tasty. Wefinished with the bread pudding, and that was also pretty lackluster. It looked like a lump of meat covered in gravy, and seemedlike it may have been microwaved, with tough bits of bread around the edges that required a firm cut with a knife to getthrough. The sauce was ok, but not great. Do not recommend that dessert. Overall I really wanted to like this place, and I hopethey can up their game on the dishes we tried. The servers are very good - friendly and efficient. And the outdoor seating wasfine. May give them another try when they have the pork shoulder back on the menu - I hear that's really good. The portion was very generous, however the sauce of my Cajun shrimp was so very thick (too much cream I'm guessing) that covered... up the good flavor and became quite heavy half way through. Same thing with the chicken skewers. The meat was so nice and tenderbut the peanut sauce was so greasy that kinda ruined the dish for me. Read more

Good food. The prices are a bit high for my taste. Did not like the bread pudding and I was so disappointed about that. The... caramel sauce was very wine infused. My friend eat it up though. The fish tacos were a bit fishy for my taste. The chickenskewers were really good. And the plantains and beans were delicious, just how I like my plantains. Had sangria, red, I didn'treally like it. Maybe should have gotten the white. We sat outside, in the front because the inside was so warm and they werehaving a reserved party in the back. The waiter was nice giving us suggestiond to what to do in the area. Read more

Delicious small plates and good service. The three of us ordered 4 plates and that was plenty. Fun and funky atmosphere.

Hello Check Please Fans Good experience at Whipper Snapper Restaurant was quiet Sunday afternoon and the service and food were... excellent We had the plantains with black beans dish. It was a generous portion and was delicious with mild seasoning.Garnished with cilantro and sour cream We also split the cauliflower soup and an order of fish tacos. The soup was served hotand had an amazing color with a curry finish and very thick and creamy The fish tacos ( 2) were topped with red cabbage andsweet vinaigrette, mayo x sararacha, and the fish was good quality cooked perfectly, Desert was excellent ....a generouschocolate bread pudding with fresh strawberries blue berries and plate was covered with hot caramel sauce perfect for a coldafternoon. I would revisit for this desert and coffee as a special treat. Home Run Our server Julian did an excellent job wasvery polite and professional. Julian offered free tastings of sangria and treated us like old friends. Our chef Holden also hita home run... the food was served hot and the presentation was perfect. I liked the music and the bright colors and decorationsthat were of Caribbean accent Although you will pass many eateries on 4th st on the way to Whipper Snapper its worth the trip Read more
