Been here several times. Beautiful area, great food, and when the building finally opened back up, gorgeous interior. The... exterior was also beautiful. It gave me Secret Garden vibes. There's a small nature park not too far from WTD, which made forsome really good coffee before a walk. Reasonably priced, out of the way enough that it's rarely too crowded, the vibes areoverall fantastic. There was even a few pieces of art on display to buy! Read more

Love this place. The vibes cannot be beat. It opened when I was in high school and it became my regular spot. I still visit... every time I go home. Local art, relaxed atmosphere, spooky vibes, and staff that seem very chill. They have a nice outdoorarea and a small parking lot. The cbd water blew my mind and had me feeling good. The ice hibiscus mint tea is a core memory. Thanks Wake the Dead, for being my home away from home for my 17 heart is self and a gateway to the amazing goth adult I'dbecome. My girlfriend and I decided to pop in and check this place out on our vacation, and we both loved it a lot. perfect place for a... cute date, with a very down to earth and adorably spooky vibe. the outside patio is very relaxing and aesthetically pleasing.the food and drinks were amazing, and the music bumps very nicely. an absolute go to if you want to explore the nooks andcrannies of San Marcos. Wake the Dead is not a coffee shop. It's a coffee experience. The atmosphere and general vibe boasts a place to come for a... casual lounge experience while getting some top notch caffeine. I visited Wake the Dead, while visiting Texas for the firsttime. My hosts couldn't say more about how much they loved this local staple. The goth/punk, macabre decoration is a delight.And there's artwork all over from real artists that are available to purchase. They also apparently host events and areintegrated into the local community. As a New Yorker in San Marcos for the first time, I was really really impressed. I was madea half chai half matcha latte and it was easily in my top three experiences while visiting the state. Next time I'm in Texas, Iwould love to just hang out there in the evening, sipping on a glass of wine (which they also sell. Again. But lounge vibes. AndI love it) And the people who work there are friendly, kind and diligent. Several weeks after the fact, I called to purchaseone of the prints I'd seen on the wall. Whoever was managing their Instagram account helped me track down the artist and got mewhat I needed. It was the easiest thing Id ever done across state lines.
