I came here the first time hungry after a long day of moving with my Wife. We were pleasantly surprised to say the least. First... let's talk price, as for sushi and quantity of fish we are getting. We opted the first time for a 3 item Combo with about 12choices, of which 3 require an additional $1-2.50. We opted for the Salmon Teriyaki upgrade for one. We waited for about 15minutes which is in line with cooking a Salmon on a low heat fire grill to keep it moist and when we jumped back in the car. Mywife smiled because the salmon was perfectly cooked, marinated, rice, extra sauce and grilled veggie bed was amazing a bitcharred. The Combo also came with a soup which was given a healthy dose of miso with some tofu it. As to the rolls, we got theCalifornia Roll and the Crunchy Roll. Both of these were proper rolls with great texture and smooth melt in your mouthfillings. I come here twice a month and today I experienced a very disappointing experience. Malitda "the manager" rudely didn't want to... give me Sriracha and then said ," we charge for these." There should be a sign because when I dine I never get the Srirachacharged. Malitda pls get some customer service classes. Sadly the owner Jacob only said, "I'm so sorry." 50 cents for this smallamount of Sriracha. What other hooked on sushi charges for this? Read more
The service is great here. We walked in, greeted and sat at a table. The server Chie was fantastic and attentive. I ordered an... appetizer, tempura vegetables and Golden Gate. I like this location better than the Encinitas as the atmosphere, server andservice were awesome!!Fast too.. Read more
Just had TNT & super Mario sushi rolls they were so delicious. TNT rolls had crispy fried onions on top. The lady at the counter... was knowledgeable and very helpful in picking these yummy rolls. Read more
By far our favorite sushi spots in North County. San Marcos location has a different vibe/setup compared to Encinitas and... Carlsbad, but sushi and service remain top notch consistency. Only change that would get us there more often is if they wereopen on Sundays. Read more
Was a regular in Encinitas for years being I lived so close and I loved the food and vibe. This set up in my opinion was a big... miss. Very cold and uninviting feeling, and although the girl sensed me not digging the setup, she seemed as if I?m not the onlyone with the feeling and said they were going to change it. I sure miss my Encinitas spot and have resorted to Sushi Hulu fordescent sushi, good atmosphere, and great price point, and Unami Sushi for hands down best quality in San Marcos, although pricereflects that. The Hooked On brand is amazing. They also have Hooked on Poke and several Hooked on Sushi. This is one of the only places I go... for sushi unless I go to one of their other locations. I've gone once a week since this branch opened and their lunch special isthe best. Hands down best sushi around for the price. Read more
Unfortunately places that become franchised, tend to lose its quality. We ordered garlic eda, mixed tempura and gyoza. Those... were great but the sushi game was not on point. The Baked salmon could be prepared better. The rice was burnt because of itbeing baked too long. Lemon roll was decent and snowball was terrible. Rolls could be better. Read more
