Reviews for Debbie's Restaurant & Pie Shoppe in San Marcos, CA
Great little place to stop for breakfast or lunch. Awesome BLT and the pie was great. The staff were friendly and extremely... attentive. Definitely have to go back and try more. (The chicken fried steak looked really good) Read more
I've only eaten breakfast here, but the food is fantastic. The homemade corned beef hash is excellent and they have one of the... best vegetarian omelets I've ever had. Their sausage is great and the potatoes are excellent. Great, homemade food. Read more
Thank You... for a heart warming staff, quality food, and staying true to local regular customers!
Our food arrived in a timely manner, was hot and tasty. We were seated quickly and offered drinks right away. Even though... they were short staffed we had continous refills of coffee and promptly had dishes cleared. Yet we felt like we could relax andenjoy our meal. I would highly recommend this place. Breakfast was delicious and fresh, just what was needed to start my day! The pies are also so good and there's so many options.... The burgers looked so good and were huge, I will definitely be back for lunch! Lastly, the staff was so sweet and helpful. I hadwhat they recommended and it did not disappoint. Read more
I had the beet salad with grilled chicken and blue-cheese dressing. Salad was fresh and pretty. The dressing was generic and I... would have loved pickled onions or pickled beets in this, but it was very good despite the lack of some acid to balance thesweetness of the cranberries. Pies looked great, but I wish the strawberry rhubarb didn?t have a cinnamon oat topping. Theflavors didn?t mesh for me personally. The Chocolate creme pie looks great and was a nice consistency. The ambiance was easygoing and not in any kind of rush. Christian soft rock was the musical flavor of the day. I don?t know if that is everyday, butthe volume was a bit much for just a few people in the restaurant at the end of the lunch rush. Service was very nice andpolite, and if they didn't have an answer for my questions then they were comfortable checking into it for me. Overall, a placeI will come back for breakfast to check out, but maybe not for pie. Read more
Accessibility: there are a few accessible/disabled parking spots available but they are not directly in front of this store,... they are in front of the stores next door, and they were all taken when I came. If you cannot get one of these spots it might bechallenging because the parking lot is always packed. There are ramps to get onto the sidewalk where this parking is, in frontof the stores next door, none in front of Debbie's. The door to enter the building is a pull door but you could also waitoutside for a waitress to walk by and seat you. There is outside seating in covered shade as well as indoor dining. Experience:I had breakfast here and it was good. The employees were probably the best part because they were very friendly and thewaitresses were all very good about coming to check on us. I did not get to try the pie yet but next time! They are also dogfriendly; we had our dog sit outside with us, and there was another family with a dog next to us. Read more
Scrapbook Series, Part 5 ?Black Friday?, ?Small Business Saturday?, ?Cyber Monday?, and ?Giving Tuesday.? Congratulations,... you?ve now survived all of them once again this year! ???? Speaking of supporting small businesses, Cathie?s scrapbook lead usto Debbie?s Restaurant & Pie Shoppe this month. While clearly their pies are a focal point for them, they also serve bothbreakfast and lunch (but they close at 3:00 p.m. each day). We sampled a slice of the Dutch Apple Crunch (adding a little icecream on the side). Although it was pretty good, we think the draw here is actually the people. We found all 3 employees thatwe interacted with during our visit to be friendly and willing to engage in our conversations and share some laughter withus. If you are able to visit by December 11th, be sure to consider contributing to their 13th Annual ?PJ Angels? Program. Wemay now have officially entered the holiday season, but collecting pajamas for needy children affected by personal hardshipand/or homeless is a worthy effort that we support no matter the time of year.
