It's a lovely place with a good atmosphere. I think it might be overpriced for the food that you are getting. If you are getting... pasta make sure you pick the homemade pasta it tastes so much better than the other pasta options . The parking kinda sucks butthere's free parking you just need to walk a little. Read more

Had dinner here for my friend’s birthday, service was good the free bread and oil they bring you are good, I know it’s an... Italian restaurant, but they had a rib eye steak on the menu so I went for it and my goodness did it not disappoint. I asked forit medium rare and that’s what I got tender juicy steak with a salad on the side. Ordered the cheesecake for dessert. It wasnot as creamy as I expected but still very tasty. I would go again. Read more

Absolutely charming and restorative dining experience, from start to finish! The hostess was pleasant and attentive, we were... seated immediately at a quiet table with comfortable armchairs and cushions. The bread and dipping oil was delicious! Everyonewho waited on us was friendly and absolutely five star professional. The menu has so many options, including if you arevegetarian, or gluten-free! I shared the Nicola pizza and the root vegetable salad with goat cheese and smoked salmon, with afriend. We easily could have had plenty to take home each, but it was too good to stop eating! The pizza had a perfect saucewhich was neither too sweet nor too acidic. Also it was the right amount, so it wasn't making the pizza soggy or overpoweringthe other flavors. The mushrooms had a pleasant truffle taste without being cloying or too earthy. The smoked prosciutto wasthinly sliced and decadent. The crust was everything I loved about Neapolitan style pizza, with the perfect balance of crispoutside and soft chewy center, without being too crunchy or too doughy. The salad was absolutely bountiful and so fresh andnuanced. The julienned root vegetables were slightly warm because they had been cooked al dente, which was perfect rather thanhaving raw or crunchy, which would not have gone well with the rest of the salad. My friend and I finished off by sharing thehouse specialty dessert, which consisted of airy layers of phyllo dough, with light fresh custard sandwiched in between, andtopped with fresh cream and strawberries. It was delicious, and seems to be their most popular dessert! Although considering thequality of everything we tried, I'm sure that the cheesecake and the tiramisu are fantastic as well. The decaf cappuccinos thatwe each had to go with the dessert were perfectly done, with the just right ratio of foam to coffee, and I'm not sure what kindof coffee they use, but it was very pleasant without an acidic or burnt aftertaste. Did I mention that fo Read more

I've also been to the South Park and Encinitas locations, but really love this new space in San Marcos. I've been making my way... through the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Italy is far, but I've been fortunate enough to visit twice, and this placetransports me back. If you want a taste of Rome, be sure to try their amatriciana, cacio e pepe, and carbonara. If you preferNaples, they've got you covered with their pizza Napoletana. The Italian-born owner, along with several of the employees, havedone all excellent job of bringing the best of several regions' cuisine to San Diego. Ask about their millefoglie for dessert.I've attached a picture of this heavenly combination of flaky pastry, cream, and strawberries. It's not to be missed! If you'restill reading, I'll throw in a plug for a sister restaurant, Gelati e Peccati in North Park. It's a more casual place for gelatoand pizza al taglio (by the slice) that I never expected to find outside of Rome. Read more

I know there might be many reasons to choose this place for a lovely family gathering or to make it a pizza day with friends, i... would just add here that now and forever my main reason to come to this amazing place is the desert! I don’t remember the name- its on the photo. OMG! It was so good! Fresh strawberries with fantastic custard and flaky puff pastry. So blessed to live notfar from this amazing place to be able to enjoy it as much as I want. Thanks to Britney who was super nice and friendly! Read more

Accessibility: this building is very accessible getting inside, with the door open for people to come in and out of, and lots of... seating inside and outside on their covered patio. The bathroom has a single push door to enter, and pull to exit the bathroom. They have one smaller stall and one larger stall, Wheelchair accessible. The bathroom is very dark inside though...not goodlighting for those visually impaired (the photos look a lot brighter than it was). The final issue I have with this location isthe parking. Most of the parking is a bit far. There is a very small amount of 20 minute parking right in front of the buildingbut they will be strict about giving tickets and towing after that 20 minutes coming in the next week when CSUSM opens and therewill be A TON more people and cars. The other parking nearby is in a dirt/gravel parking lot, so uneven, rough ground. The nextclosest parking after that is the large, covered parking garage, but the walk (or stroll on wheelchair) is much farther. This isnot accessible for older people or people who have difficulty walking. This is by far the biggest issue with thislocation. Experience: the building inside, and their outdoor, covered patio are absolutely beautiful. I love how they have thetables spaced out, and they have different types of chairs to sit in...they have chairs, benches, and couches. You can also sitat the bar inside. The food was good but it wasn't anything super mind-blowing, and I feel it was overpriced. I think you paymore for the location. For 3 meals and no drinks we paid $61. This would be a beautiful place to have a date night or smallfamily dinner or friend gathering though. Read more
