Reviews for Amalfi Marina Bar (Dockside) in San Marcos, CA

It's a shame to review this restaurant so low, but my experience was affected by one of the waiters. My order was taken by one... of the staff who wore denim shirts, and a brown apron. These staff seemed to be more in charge than the waiters in black.Though if this is true, it puzzles me as to why one of these aproned waiters would do the following. This older gentleman tookmy order and all seemed fine. But as he was walking away, I noticed that he kept coughing, often into his bare hand. While doingthis, I never saw him leave to a restroom to wash his hands or anything. Like I said, he seemed to be in a position ofinteracting with Diners and still he would scratch his hair in between orders. It bothered me when he brought me a spoon for asoup that I ordered. It also bothered me to see him handling people's wine glasses. But I was glad to see those staff dressedin black bringing my food. I even asked one of them to bring me an extra spoon which they did. The food was wonderful. Thenoodles had an interesting texture that I could only imagine being due to it being handmade as noted on their menu. The saucewas also very good. I did not enjoy the soup of the day. It was Lentil soup. It tasted very salty and without any otherflavor. The place itself was really nice too. My boyfriend surprised me for dinner last night for my birthday and it was possibly one of the most delicious meals I?ve had in... a while. HUGE thank you to our waiter, Mario. He is extremely professional, very kind, and had the best recommendations. And ontop of that, he is a very high class waiter and very attentive to our every need - it?s very obvious he cares for his work. Ourcompliments to the chef as well, (I believe his name is Marcelo but I could be wrong). You can tell he wanted to bring some ofhis home town food to this restaurant. This was my first time dining at the Amalfi Marina Bar. Service was excellent. Food was excellent also. We got the Ceviche for... appetizer and Furore burger for main food. I highly recommend both dishes. Will definitely go back. Read more
