Friendly service, nice live music. We got the carnitas and a platter with carnitas, pastor and chicken mole. The pastor was ... good but I found myself not loving the mole (it was heavy on one specific spice, maybe cinnamon) and the carnitas were closer topulled pork rather than being fried as listed on the menu. I would have liked more flavor in the carnitas, but they werecertainly not terrible. It might be a personal preference, but the carnitas I had at Carmelitas, for example, were definitelyfinished in the fryer. Read more

LOVED this beautiful, unassuming restaurant. Our host was exceptionally sweet to my family. The chips were freshly made, the... guacamole was delicious, and the shrimp cocktail was SO FRESH!Our waitress took the time to describe the dishes to us andallowed us to have some of the most authentic and flavorful food in our week long California vacation! The portions were huge!The fish tacos were exceptional. I don?t know what the sauce that accompanied the tacos was, but I ordered double because it waslegit! If they bottled it, I?d buy it! My spouse and I drive all the way to San Juan Capistrano from Long Beach every month to eat at Ricardo?s Place. They have... fantastic food and great service. The staff are so friendly from Ricardo to his sister Estella to the waiters like Salvador andon. I always look forward to go there and always encourage our friends to join us. Bravo! As a matter of fact, I?m going therefor lunch today. BTW, the Cadillac Margaritas are great too! Read more
They have a great little band that plays on Wednesday and Thursday Nights. They have great food, but they are a little pricey.... For instance, they charge $4.99 for a glass of soda or iced tea! They need to offer some Specials or Lower their prices. Ifrequent other Mexican Restaurants in the area, but visit Ricardo's about only once per month due to their high prices. Read more
