Finally got to try to eat at Ramos House and I was not disappointed! They do not take reservations, and they do have a 90 minute... time limit per party. It is first come first serve and it is difficult getting in. The food was absolutely amazing. We startedoff with the Scotch Quail Egg and it was such a great bit. The mixture of textures and the perfect amount of savory and acidityblended so well. Our next dish was the cinnamon apple beignet, and wow. The inside texture is not similar to other beignets Ihave had where it is more like a donut. The beignet had a soft bite to it, where it was more like a blend of bread and custard.I can imagine the caramel being too sweet for some, but you can adjust to your liking. The best part for me was the mixture ofcondense milk and caramel that you can slurp up after you finish the beignets! On to the main courses! Chicken and waffle- thechef did a great job at trying to not make the flavor get ?boring? by adding in several layers of additional tastes through theapples, chili maple (this does have a decent kick but not spicy) and the arugula. The portion was much larger than we expected, tons of chicken and 4 waffles! The chicken batter was also very different where it was flavorful and has an amazing crunch thatlasts even after it gets cold. Beef Stew- the chef also did another great job at not making the flavor repetitive here with theblue cheese mash. The blue cheese cuts through the stew and adds complexity in flavor where it is needed. The best part of thisdish is that the beef was so tender and just falls apart! The last thing we are here was with the Peach Ice cream. The icecream was not super creamy, but the peach flavor came through very well. I enjoyed the chunks of peaches that were mixed in. Thealmond basket cookie was very crunchy, and had a hint of almond flavor. This all came together with caramel and it was a greatway to top off our brunch! Read more

Great food! Not as pricy as $$$. Spent 165 for 6 adults and 1 toddler. They did what they can to helo make some dishes... dairy-free and egg on the side for my allergic toddler. Really appreciated that. Read more

What a unique restaurant right next to the Metrolink station in San Juan Capistrano! If I had known, I would've taken the train... down from LA to do a day trip in this town and eat here. I loved the fact that there are tables right next to the tracks soyou'll see trains come and go throughout the meal and it's something to enjoy watching because you don't really get toappreciate it while driving constantly. My family and I came and dined their set brunch menu on a Saturday. The wait time wasabout 30-45 minutes so we walked around the area and sat down in the shade. We each ordered different items and each had theirown particular taste. I don't remember what my family ordered but I ordered the Mac & cheese dish, which turned out to be a toogreasy for me but had great flavor. Honestly, everything looked amazing and tasted great; I'm just an exception because I havesensitive taste buds. Anything that's too salty or sweet isn't for me and given that this is an American style restaurant, everything seemed too salty to me. I'd still come back and enjoy the view and order something different next time. Read more

Wow what an amazing little gem of a restaurant we discovered in downtown San Juan Capistrano. The menu was small with an... eclectic blend of different American dishes. We came in for brunch and had some amazing hash that included some root vegetablesthat we had never heard of before. The service is great the drinks were great and this is one of our new favorite local spots. Read more

Honestly. It's worth the price and it's conveniently located next to a train stop. Amazing food. Makes you feel like the food... critique in the movie Ratatouille. It's just something you have to try for yourself and you will not be disappointed with thelovely staff aswell as the dining area. 10/10 would buy a plane ticket just to eat here again. Read more
