Unfortunately I have to update this review right when I finally attain the most coveted "dukedom" crown on YELP for this place.... Safe to say what I have to say here is not a one time mishap but an ongoing problem that never seems to get addressed. I wasnice enough to still give this place a 4 star review even though serving uncooked meat should be an automatic 1 star during oneof my past visits. It's unfortunate that I rave about this burger place to many people who love in and out because I genuinelyloved this place. After this visit I don't believe I'll be back. Good food is only as good as the service. The service hereneeds remedial attention. Smash burger loves to put out promotions to hype things up and get people to visit only to disappointyou with customer service that is not only lacking in service but most importantly lacking in common sense problemsolving. They literally had one register open and had a line out the door because the so-called manager was all over the placetrying to figure out how to find a solution to the problematic system they have. I offered solutions that made sense which weredismissed. Instead what I got were passive aggressive comments when it's their system that was faulty. Long story short, don'tcome here for promotions. You'll be disappointed; half the time they are out of the stuff they market to you. The best solutionthe manager had was to email corporate when he literally had me stand in line for at least 15 minutes because he was incompetentin finding solutions. Read more
Took the wife and kids here for lunch. It was pretty busy but, there are outside seating. Lots to items choose from. We tired... different burgers and fries/tots from their menu but, did not capture them in the pic. We liked it. Will be back again. Read more
It's a darn shame this is the only location in SJ that's not the airport. Placed my online order at 12:43 during lunch time and... even checked in at 12:55 with the employees. They proceeded to call out every order besides mine and when I asked 30 min later ifound out it's been placed on a shelf waiting and no one bothered to call my order out. Food was cold by the time I even touchedit. And one of the cashiers were on their phone half the time. Sorry but I can't come back to this location after thisexperience. I'll just go to Habit instead or elsewhere. What's the point of online ordering in advance if this happens. Can'teven give an honest review of the food since it's cold. Read more
Used to come here a lot back in the day as their burgers are really good, however their service is avg at best. Many a times the... soda machine is out of ice or closed down early so the staff can leave soon. Also in my last 3 visits the cashier has straightup told me the wait is going to be 25-30mins, hoping I just leave and they don?t get another order, this while they have just2-3 customers in the entire restaurant. I have seen this happen with many folks here and it?s very disappointing. Read more
Really enjoyed this burger. Had the double cheeseburger and it was really good, but I definitely was expecting more crispy... surface on the patties that the smash burger is famous for. Don't think mine was cooked at a high enough temp on the griddle orthey rushed it. But it still tasted good and was hot as heck almost the entire time eating it! Fries were good as well andservice was quick and friendly. More Maillard reaction on the patty and this is a 5 star for sure. Read more
Ordered the Spicy Baja Guac Chicken Burger only to find that there was no chicken in it.. They forgot to put the chicken in the... burger before giving it to me.. ???? When they finally put the chicken in the burger it was crispy and moist. What I like aboutthis burger is they put pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, and chipotle aioli. All of which add a little kick to your burger. Thebun is suppose to be spicy too which I thought was interesting. I didn't notice any additional heat from the burger but it wasstill good. The guac was nice to have on the burger because who doesn't like guac..? Guac is a creamy, refreshing, and flavorfuladdition to the burger. The shoe strings onion rings, on the other hand, were lightly crispy and flavorful. The only negativeswere that they were a bit salty and not as crispy as I was hoping for. Not a single thing is disappointing here. The double bacon avocado club burger is perfect, 2 amazing patties, excellently cooked... bacon and patty, perfectly ripe avocado, several slices of juicy tomato and a crisp piece of lettuce to top it off. Smash frieswith rosemary are great. Oh, and the Salted caramel milkshake is amazing. Read more
Updating to say the food was SO BAD, I threw up twice while at work. ************************* Been craving a cheeseburger and... my favorite spot, SmokeEaters is permanently closed, so decided to give these guys a try. The cashier was very friendly andhelpful, 5 stars to both him and the server. The food, however, was TERRIBLE. The cheeseburger was mediocre at best, and that'sbeing generous, but the onion rings, GOOD LAWD!! So salty, oily and not crispy at all!! Completely inedible. My colleagues frieswere also salty.
