We were strolling the area looking for a good lunch place and Mumbai Local was a very pleasant surprise. The restaurant is big,... beautifully decorated and the staff were awesome. A buffet was available, but we opted to order off the menu. We ordered theSamosa, Pani Puri, Pav Bhaji and Galli Parda Dum Biryani (with chicken). All 4 dishes were delicious and very flavorful. Theprice point is fantastic and they give you so much food! I couldn?t eat it all and had to have the remainder packed to go. IfI?m ever in the area again, this will be one of my first stops. Didn't know that M Lounge became Mumbai local. The biggest advantage for this restaurant is it's prime location. You won't miss... this restaurant while walking on 2nd street. Aam panna -- This was supposed to be a mango drink(non-alcoholic). They got itwrong - Mixed alcohol. Later the waitress corrected it. Don't expect fresh mango, it is mango syrup. Chicken Biryani -- Ok--Although they did their best in presenting the biryani(in a hot bowl covered with naan), Chicken wasn't marinated well. As aresult chicken tasted raw and no salt, but rice had all the spices. This restaurant nailed the ambience but there is still moreroom for improvement in the food quality. P.S. The ambience is very good and so was the service. We ordered pani puri which was excellent. Pav bhaji, samosa and biryani were... pretty good too. The service was very attentive and timely. Read more
Don't like it at all ... I ordered vegetable biryani, raitha got spoiled and biryani is so sour and I just threw it away.. Chef... might have to change the recipe or owners has to change the chef.. Bottom line ::: not worth for your buck.. That one star isfor ambience.. ?? ?? Read more
Maybe we went here with high expectations. Mumbai Local has an awesome ambiance. That is all that's good about the place. We... tried the following - LEHSOONI DHANIYA MALAI PANEEER, MURG DO PYAZA, BUTTER CHICKEN, GRILLED SALMON MASALA, rotis and kulchas.All dishes were bland. The Salmon though looked spicy, was overly charred and bland. Other restaurants such as the NawabsKitchen in Fremont is better. Having had experienced their food, we did not have the courage to order their desserts. The placedoes have some innovative dish names though. Read more
Ordered shahi paneer and mixed veggie curry with naan. Naan were looking like machine made thick and curries are we?re not all... edible. Compared to other Bay Area restaurants food is really expensive and it tasted really bad. Read more
