Reviews for Momosan Santana Row in San Jose, CA
Super disappointing. Popcorn shrimp was basic, wontons in chili oil were mushy, chicken ramen had shredded chicken and looked... like a mess, and tsukemen lacked the richness or that thick consistency. The pork chashu was some flimsy slice of pork when iwas expecting a thicker piece of meat. Everything was overly salty and no flavors stood out. No umami whatsoever. Very expensivebut just bad. This place is money grab just relying on name recognition. Read more
i went to momosan santana row recently with 2 friends and it was quite a fun experience! we had ordered sticky ribs and edamame... (not pictured) for our appetizers and i had ordered spicy kakuni as my entree. i really enjoyed our appetizers but the spicykakuni was my most favorite item that we had ordered. i appreciated the balance of creaminess and the mild spiciness of the soupand the meat that came with the bowl. one thing that ive noticed was my soup was a bit salty - besides that everything wasreally good and i would be down to stop by again to try their other dishes (esp gyukotsu)! for the sticky ribs - the meat was sotender and fell right off the bone and the edamame was so fun to eat / perfectly seasoned and warm. id say that this place isperfect for dates, friends and family dinner, and foodie lovers! the staff and environment are so friendly and welcoming -creating this warm and fun ambiance. something to keep in mind is that there can be a bit of a wait but the lines typically movepretty fast tip: - unisex bathrooms (2) are available in store - lots of parking/parking structure nearby - plenty of nightlife activities opportunities around santana row Read more
Let's be honest...I went here with my family with high expectations and was under impressed with the food. Some of it was... delicious, but not enough for me to want to come back and spend the amount of money I did. Service and friendliness of thestaff were excellent. We really felt welcome! I wanted to love this place but think I will stick with the other ramen placeinside of VF. Read more
We did wait in line on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Not too bad as we arrived early. Everything we ate was very good! and the... prices cost more compared with other places but the ingredients were of good quality. The ribs in the ramen were tender and notoily at all! The service people are young and attentive. Give it a try! Read more
Arrived around 6pm on Saturday night and seated outside around 6:50pm. The table is close to street and they ran out of propane... for the heater, so it?s noisy and a bit cold. Soft shell crab maki was pretty good. Karaage and tonkotsu ramen were average.Won?t visit again unless there is no wait and able to seat inside. Read more
Thoroughly disappointing. We ordered an All-Star, Tokyo Chicken, Karaage, and Pork Gyoza. Servers brought us the wrong food... multiple times, and we got our ramen first. I had the All-Star; the noodles were soggy and overcooked, and the bamboo shoots tooacidic. Noodles on the Tokyo chicken were CLUMPED TOGETHER, and had a burned acrid taste. The pork gyoza came out 10 minutesafter, and the interior of the gyoza was pink and the dumplings looked undercooked on the outside. Karaage took another 10minutes to come out, and when we got it they had forgotten to sauce the karaage with their soy garlic glaze. We sent it back andit took another 10 minutes. Honestly, Bonchon's is better LOL. Maybe they struggled because they opened recently, but too manythings went wrong for me to ever consider coming back here. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the servers were polite andtrying their best and the tonkotsu broth was good. Read more
Very nut allergy friendly - nothing on their menu uses nuts! Went on Friday night around 7PM on the last weekend Iron Chef... Morimoto was in attendance. Line stretched all the way to Boba Guys and took about 35 minutes to get through. We skipped alittle by agreeing to share a table with another party. Ordering was quick and we received our appetizer, the sticky ribs, afterabout 20 minutes. This was a 4/5 dish - three ribs of varying amounts of bone and meat, all fall-of-the-bone tender but for somereason, one of mine felt drier. The group next to us had the popcorn shrimp, which looked a lot more sharable with a largerquantity. Main course ramen came after about 45 minutes. I had the Tonkatsu with a spicy ball. It was a little too salty and alittle oily for me, and not as rich as other ramen I've had. It was also one of the smallest bowls of ramen I had for $18before. The chashu was the most unique here, which was not thick pork like other ramen but instead more thinly sliced like baconstrips. Overall, also about a 3.5/5, elevated to 4/5 with the black ramen pepper that was provided late (for some reason we wereseated at the only table that did not have this condiment, but our second server recognized this and reconciled it). Total $58or so before tip for both people. I would go back if there was no line to get in. My partner gave it a 4.5/5. Read more
Monday night, no wait at 6pm. Parking was easy too in the lots nearby. I checked in before the rest of the party was there. They... said just let them know when everyone was there. Ramens we?re pretty good. Buri bap was ok. Appetizers were good and decentportions. Popcorn shrimp has some heat. Good dinner but a little pricey. Read more
