I walked 1.5 miles from the Hyatt to get food and a couple of bottles of spicy sauce to take back home. Upon entering the... establishment I passed by and said hello to an employee who was on her cell call. I proceeded to wait 5 minutes while shefinished her call to place my order. She didn't offer an apology and she was quite short with her responses. I asked about thesauce adding that I mainly came to purchase spicy sauce and was told we don't sell it anymore. Okay great where can I get it? Wedon't sell it. Perhaps a corporate office? No! We don't sell it. The food was delicious after my long walk however after goingto this place for 20 plus year's at the Sunnyvale location which is gone. I'm done. I'm a flight attendant and a manager at astadium customer service is what makes the experience and excites people to return. Happy House N. 5th street I came a long wayto get your food because it is that good however, as hard as I work for my $$$ I feel a pleasant experience as I hand it overis the least of my expectations. Love the tempura dipped vegetables and pork teriyaki. I make it a point to go to Happy House when in San Jose. I live in... Hollister and unfortunately we don't have a Happy House Restaurant nearby. The service is excellent and food is fresh anddelicious. Japan town is going thru alot of construction looks like new buildings with dual housing and shopping beingconstructed close to Happy House. Not to worry about parking they have a fairly large parking lot. Try the food next time yourin town. You won't be disappointed. Read more
I've been coming here since I was 15 years old. I'm now 43. My biggest complaint about this place is that they stopped selling... the terriyaki bottles because they're blaming the pandemic. THERE IS NO MORE PANDEMIC. PLEASE START SELLING THE TERRIYAKIBOTTLES AGAIN! I doubt I'll give this place any more business ever again. The prices are way too expensive and the portions areterribly small. All I wanted was a bottle of their signature terriyaki sauce and they blamed it on the pandemic. Guess I won'tbe coming here ever again. This place is sure to go out of business soon. It used to be a lovely place but they emphasize on thepandemic way too much. There's no more pandemic people! I love the salad and chicken terriyaki strips with brown rice but thisjust isn't worth it anymore. The owner of this place really NEEDS to get a college degree and learn contemporary business. Ithas great potential but I'm constantly telling my family and friends NEVER to come here. The portions are horribly small and theprices are ridiculously overpriced. This place used to be nice in the 90's right next to Japan town but since they don't sellterriyaki sauce bottles anymore, I'll go somewhere else. Nice restaurant and lovely atmosphere but it's not worth the price andthey stopped selling Happi House terriyaki bottles forever. THERE IS NO MORE PANDEMIC! BRING THEM BACK OR THIS PLACE WILL GO OUTOF BUSINESS VERY SOON. Located on 5th Street in San Jose CA, this place was a gem and loved. Not so much anymore and everythingis overpriced. Portions of food are so small it could barely feed a tiny mouse. These people are blaming everything on thepandemic and it's sad. I used to love eating here every week. Not anymore. I'll find somewhere else who serves terriyaki food.Don't waste your money here. Management is to blame for this joint going out of business. I always enjoy coming here when I can. Especially for my husband he lives the food from here. He has been coming here since he... was a little kid with his parents when he lived in San Jose. The food is always delicious, hot, and affordable. Great customerservice and don't have to wait super long either. They do get busy here, but it is worth the wait. Always look to tryingsomething new when I come here. Interior and exterior is always clean and organized. I wish you guys sold your bottles ofTeriyaki sauce now but I understand the pandemic screwed up many businesses. MY HUSBAND HOPES SOMEDAY YOU GUYS MIGUT SET UP SHOPIN TRACY, CA SOME DAY. We were hungry and found ourselves in the neighborhood. We wanted to go somewhere else, but it was closed (even though Google... said they were open). We found this place, and we were pleasantly surprised. Large portions. Good takeout Japanese food. Maybenot to drive 20 minutes out of the way, but if I'm in the neighborhood again, I'd consider it. I stop by at least 4 times a month. Great food. Best salad I've ever had. Love this place.
