I didn't get a chance to eat at a delicatessen when I visited NYC, so I made a point to pay a visit to Wise Sons in the city... during a work trip. It was after all, located literally behind the hotel I was staying at and it would have been pathetic if Ididn't take advantage of the opportunity. The cheese, the pastrami, the toasted bread. All of it was just amazing and my mouthis watering as I write this review. I wasn't sure if I could go into the museum to access the inside, and figured the insideaccess was closed due to the window and small awning with the name on it. A lovely and tasty experience, for sure. Read more

We picked up bagels on a weekend morning from Wise Sons - we got two Everything Bagels toasted , one with veggie cream cheese... and one with the vegan sunflower seed cream cheese. Both were amazing and I?m so glad they had a vegan cream cheese option - itwas super light and fluffy. Read more

The pastrami is spot on, the Potato salad is smooth as a baby?s bottom and everything was served quickly and efficiently. I... would come back and try some of their other items like a breakfast sandwich and see if everything is as good as this sandwichthat I have eaten! Only minor thing is my pickle wasn?t very crunchy, it didn?t have that snap that I?d expect Read more

Excellent and unique bagel sandwiches with quick, friendly service. I got the Lumberjack Bagel Sandwich with crispy pastrami,... on the suggested cinnamon raisin bagel, and couldn't be more satisfied. It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory, thedrizzle of maple syrup was delicous with the pastrami. The eggs were fluffy with plenty of cheese for a instagram-worthy pullapart shot. Cannot wait to go back for more! Read more

Meh... I hold a high standard when it comes to delis that self-described their Rueben?s as 'Jewish Deli Rueben' sandwiches,... coming from years of frequenting Kosher delis in NYC like 2nd Ave Deli in Manhattan, Katz's, etc...those places are incredibleif you ever visit New York. If you haven't been spoiled by NYC or Israel and your goal is to find a decent pastrami sandwich inSan Francisco for ~ $20 that doesn't ripcord your gag reflex like Subway's pastrami sandwiches do then Wise Sons is ok. Ifyou're looking for "amazing authentic Jewish Deli Rueben" sandwiches and the like, then you might find Wise Sons to beunderwhelming. Their Rueben had a a fair amount of meat but it wasn't generous like you normally get for a $20 Reuben, thepastrami was ok but not amazing + slightly overcooked, there was some sauerkraut on the sandwich but it didn?t seem like enough,it came with a sliver of pickle instead of a whole pickle, no mustard offered unless you ask for the cashier's hand in marriage, and there was not a Jewish person in site in the kitchen. Not a deal breaker, but just sayin' - kind of like going to a MemphisBBQ joint run by Parisians. Their corned beef lacked the succulent potency in flavor that most $20 Jewish deli's in the Eastproduce, but it wasn't terrible - I'm guessing Wise Sons may not cure their meat very long in the brine or their saltwater brineis cutting corners w/ ingredients / process. Also, heads up that this place isn't authentic Kosher if that is a concern. For a$20+ sandwich, it didn't meet my royal standards...but it wasn't terrible. This is probably one of your few options here inSF?it just ain?t NY quality. It was more of a $13 Rueben smooshed down flat by $7 worth of San Francisco real estate and hustleculture ?family owned? franchise marketing. ?Meh Read more

Everything was excellent. Awesome Turkey Club sandwich and potato salad. Potato salad was interestingly creamy and you... couldn?t really it was chunks of potatoes, but really tasty. A little expensive for a sandwich, is the only problem. Read more
