Reviews for Ushi Taro Ramen in San Francisco, CA
Very interesting ramen place. Adding the bone marrow is a must. I hoped the broth could be thicker but the bone marrow fits... really well with the broth. Everything got a bit too oily in the end tho. Read more
Exotic ramen with bone marrow. Broth is deep, and well match with bone marrow and other topings. Also, try roasted beef filet.... Strongly recommend Read more
I LOVE Ushi Taro. I first tried it with a few friends and now make an effort to go by myself when my ramen craving arises (very... often these days). It?s a great spot to grab a bowl and kick it with friends or to take yourself on a date. Big fan! Will beback any day now:) Read more
Pros: Rich flavorful broth. The egg was cooked perfectly. The noodles were above average. The interior has a decent amount of... seating. Cons: nothing really. I do think the bone marrow topping (pictured) is over priced and not worth it. But if you don?tpay for that it?s a fair price and high quality. Read more
Came here for dinner and YUM, what a great idea! INDOOR DINING This place is tiny but luckily when we dined in there weren't... too many people. There are counter/bar seating around the room and then a couple of long tables. FOOD As a starter, we orderedthe beef karaage - marinated beef that's lightly coated and fried. The beef was so tender and flavorful. I just wished it wascrispy. For the ramen, we ordered the spicy ramen. It wasn't spicy but it was delicious! The broth is rich and the noodles werenice and chewy. The overall portion is pretty big - we definitely left feeling full and happy. SERVICE It's just one personworking in the dining area but she was still efficient. When you're done eating, pay at the front. I'll definitely be back andI look forward to trying the other bowls of ramen! :) Read more
Delicious ramen with yummy sides like bone marrow or black garlic oil. The portions are BIG but the space is small. Plan... accordingly. Also the fried mushrooms are a must-order. Read more
I really wanted to like this place. The customer service was great. the food was boring. I?ve had ramen from most places in SF... and the ramen here tasted like any instant ramen I?ve ever made. the toppings did not go well together IMO - there were oystermushrooms and slices of beef and a scoop of truffle topping. The fried mushrooms tasted like salt and pepper seasoning found inCantonese salt and pepper pork or squid. The coating was crunchy but the interior was soft and mushy. I wanted to try the bowlwith bone marrow but they are no longer serving that one. My two dish total came to $30 - not worth it. Read more
A beef ramen shop that turned out to be surprisingly good! Beef karaake was super tender and well seasoned. All 3 flavors of the... broth - shiro, traditional and spicy were very flavorful and paired really well with the melt in your mouth beef slices. Weadded the black garlic oil as well to our ramen bowls too. Trust me it's worth the price! Read more
