Really underrated and hidden place! Check it out! After two failed attempts to get ramen around the area we happened to walk by... and stood outside for a solid 10 minutes debating going in. Totally a good idea. Ordered fries as An appetizer, they were bomb!I can?t even tell you what is on them but it was weird, and it was Good! Lol I got tofu ramen mild, pretty spicy, so good. Myfriend got karaage chicken and he almost cleaned the plate! Read more

This place was not very good. I've been to their original location in San Diego a bunch of times and their food is top notch. So... fresh and delicious. I could be happy ordering their broth alone. Now for the San Francisco location. DO NOT UP. To start, therestaurant was completely empty. They took 25 mins to even take our order. We ordered garlic edamame, double order of karaagefor appetizer, those were actually both solid. The ramen...the main dish....well that's where it all goes down hill. We ordered2 black edition black garlic tonkotsu ramen bowls and 2 happy hour chicken tonkotsu. The chicken tonkotsus were pextremely blandand seemed watered down. Compared to these rich and creamy broth that I'm accustomed to in SD this was completely unsatisfying.Only ate the noodles and veggies left the broth. Almost wasn't worth eating. Thank goodness it was happy hour priced ($7). Theblack edition we ordered with the upcharged pork belly was just as boring. This dish in San Diego is hands down one of the mostrich, flavorful and delicious ramen I've ever had. The soup explodes with garlic and you can really taste the charcoal whichgives it it's distinct, nothing like it, flavor. However the SF edition again is just flavored water with garlic and blackflecks floating in my broth. No flavor and unappealing. The pork belly we paid extra for was tough and chewy and had no grillmarks. In a city loaded with Ramen....avoid avoid avid!!!!! Read more

It's not a 3-star place, but not a four either, so 3.5 that it currently holds is about right. We were here during the... soft-opening and got a "BOGO" deal, so I feel like I need to give four stars just for this. About the food - and mainly theramen, of course. It's pretty solid. The portions are larger than usual, the noodles are great. The weakest link is the broth(spicy is better, in my humble opinion), which can completely kill the dish or make it an amazing one. It does neither in thiscase. Very uninspiring. I would say that this is decent ramen, but there are places in the city that are so much better, that Ican't really recommend. * The gyoza is a must! * We had to ask to replace our water glasses as they all had a very strong smellof the cleaning product. Booo. Read more
