I was a huge Tosca fan. And I'll come give it another chance. But whatever changed post-Covid, the food was not exceptional as... it used to be. It used to be simple but perfect. This time it felt meh-- not just a few dishes - all of them. Service too. Thereused to be little dishes you could order that were impeccable. Maybe I had the place on a pedestal. Still love the atmosphere. Read more

Tosca! We love you. My. husband and I had our small wedding party in the private room. We had been here a few times before and... loved all of our food and drinks. Shannon was SO helpful leading up to the event with all of our questions and requests. Wecomfortably fit our 16 people in a beautiful ambiance. We were able to choose our own playlist. All of the food on the eventmenu was wonderful and was timed so perfectly - our guests (and us) couldn't stop talking about it all weekend. Especially themushroom gnocchi (a family favorite :) ). Thank you all for making such a beautiful night! Shout out to Shannon, Rodolfo (sorryif the spelling is wrong!!) and the team who made such a beautiful night for us. And the chefs of course for the amazing food! Read more

A friend and I slipped in to Tosca Cafe before the dinner crowd arrived. The food was delicious and they still make a darn fine... martini. It gets loud when full of happy diners, but is an still enjoyable and elegant San Francisco eatery. Read more

I guess the question is how much of a pass do you give every place because of the pandemic. My memory is that this place was... once pretty good. It’s mediocre now. Not a pure tourist trap but verging on that. Not terrible but not good. I guess itreverted to a/the level of mediocrity it had before it had a big remake some years ago. I didn’t research the owner/chefchanges. Something happened that’s not positive. Oh well. Maybe that’s what people want. Read more

I hadn't been since the new ownership and I have to say the food and cocktails are even better than before. The negronis are to... die for. And that pappardelle OMG. They even managed to make a simple caprese outstanding. Why did it take us so long to go whenwe just live a 5 minute walk away when we are in SF. Read more

Old school gem in North Beach - sat at the bar and enjoyed some delicious pasta and crafted cocktails. Highly recommend the... Orecchiette & Mussels and Olive Cake for dessert. Also sipped the Mambo Italiano cocktail and Read more

Excellent Italian food that is comforting yet creative and flavorful. Hands down our favorite Italian place in the city. The... cozy vibe, the high quality service, the delicious food - 5 stars all around. We had the oysters, arugula salad, focaccia breadwith marinated burrata, butternut squash pasta, pork belly (so good!!) and chocolate desert. Thank you team Tosca, we’ll beback soon! Read more
