We visited this place last weekend and had expectations for delicious food as I have not been wrong about it before. I have... tried several of seafood restaurants. Service was good but the food was inconsistent. While we liked the cocktail and crabcakes, the rest of the order did not meet the bill. My son is fond of ravioli and have never heard him complaining about it anyother place. He left the food after trying a couple of them. Sea bass was bland and salad did not taste fresh. Don't botherordering chowder at the place. At the end we left wanting for more. Looks like others in the past have had good experiences. Itis possible it was not my day. Read more
Something special for our first night in San Francisco at Swiss Louis who has first opened in 1936. I?m not the seafood fan but... my partner is and this place had something for both of us. Located at Pier 39, upstairs and towards the end, this restaurant isclassy and has a beautiful view over the bay to Sausalito and the Golden Gate Bridge. Menu is extensive with plenty of variety. We had the deep fried mozzarella sticks and my partner had the steamed mussels and clams. Frankly, the mozzarella sticks weredisappointing. Served on a plated of shredded lettuce, it didn?t look very appetising and I expected more from such a highcalibre restaurant. The bowl of mussels and clams were served in a tasty broth and seafood cooked perfectly. For main course, Ihad the #fettuccinealfredo which was a good portion size but somewhat dry. A drizzle of olive oil would?ve made the texturesmooth and add more flavour. My partner had the dungeness crab enchiladas. We both ordered Margherita cocktails. See photos forhow stunning they looked. Tasted even better. Wine menu is vast and celebrate local wineries. To see is outdoor dining as wellwhich is well decorated with geranium shrubs sprinkled around the seating. Disability access good. Dietaries can be catered for.Kids menu and high chairs available. Prices aren?t cheap. Have to say the service was excellent and staff fast, efficient andfriendly. Finally, the views over the marina across the bay as the sun started to set was mesmerising. If for no other reason,it?s worth it for the views. Read more
Don't recommend it. Overpriced and under delivered. - garlic bread was recommended to us and it was microwaved, hardened... immediately - sea food platter also tasted like it was made in the morning and then sitting in the fridge - the view was theonly positive at this restaurant Read more
The food was DELICIOUS. The service was quick and awesome. There was little to no wait for a table. The views were incredible. A... little higher priced but considering all of the above, it was worth it. Would go again next time I'm at Pier 39. Read more

Came here with my family after a race for brunch/lunch on a Saturday. We came with a fairly large group and our host did their... best to accommodate us. (This restaurant only allows two credit cards per table so they don't split checks). A littleinconvenient but I understand. The waitstaff provided excellent service which is a big selling point for me. About half mygroup ordered seafood and the other half ordered Italian. The pasta was hit and miss. A couple people ordered lasagna. Mysister shared some with me and to be honest it needed something. The sauce was tangy but I felt it neededsome seasoning.. Linguine al pesto was good but I like my pasta more al dente. Not the best that I've ever had but a solid 4 out of 5. Theyjust need to be more careful when plating so it looks more fine dining and less Olive Garden. The calamari was nice and crisp(not chewy) and my husband's fish and chips were excellent. (I snuck a piece and the beer batter was super crisp and crunchy).Arguably some of the better fish and chips that I've tasted. Tiramisu was on the menu so I tried it. It's an actual tiramisumade with lady fingers and not layer cake. Overall, this was a good experience for coming in with my family. I wouldn't mindcoming in again for the seafood. Read more
