Came for the vegan option. It was meh. Not as flavorful and the tofu was a super thin tiny portion. There was also sweet potato... fries and this other fried carb thing. It made it odd. Nice outdoor seating and staff. Wish they had better protein portions andthe base as more flavorful. 4 starts for having a vegan option but really 3 for the actual food. Read more

Ordered Miso spicy ramen and miso tsukemen. Noodle texture is great, al dente and chewy. Soup is too salty and thick to my... liking. Maybe soy sauce soup base is better. Salad is good. Read more

I got a pork belly rice dish, and overall I felt that the prices and portions were reasonable. Pork was cooked well, along with... a light cabbage side and egg made this a well-rounded lunch. The location in Japantown is convenient and the square + mall isright next to it. Read more

Ramen Yamada is tucked away on the second floor next to Shabu Sen. This ramen spot is a simple setup. We ordered their signature... ?Yamadaya? ramen which is their black garlic noodles. The broth was definitely flavorful but the essence wasn?t absorbed by thenoodles. The pork wasn?t what I?m used to. It didn?t taste like other braised pork belly I?m used to but I guess you can sayit?s Yamadaya style. There was chashu too but it didn?t stand out as much. The egg was on the overcooked side (majority of uslikes it to be soft and runny. I know I didn?t say a lot of good things but overall the service was fast? the crowd was good..the food wasn?t terrible. My go-to ramen in this area is still Marufuku. Read more

Takoyaki is great!! The bun with fried chicken is very wired. Basically I ate the chicken and bun+veggies separately. Not... recommended. The ramen has generous portion of meat, but the bamboo shoot and egg etc are cold?it?s a legit Raman but not good. The dessert is a bit burnt but a little raw on the inside. Read more

This place does Ramen right. The Black Garlic is the heavy hitter on the menu. Service is good but can be a bit hectic around... dinner rush. It is also quite loud in the main dinning room. Read more

I've been here several times before, and it's always delicious. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the toppings are always a... treat. Unfortunately, this latest journey had a small issue- the soft boiled egg was WAYYYYY overcooked; the yolk was positivelysolid and chalky. I was the first sit down customer of the night, I assume I got an egg that had been sitting in the boiler fortoo long. Previous experience indicates that this is an anomaly, though, so it still gets five stars in my book. Read more
