Always heard about the hype around this place so decided to try it out. The dishes were very small in portion for the price. The... crab was not as good as we'd hoped, usually it's piping hot but this one was kind of cold. Clams were overly saucy and some notsuper fresh as the shells were closed. The baby octopus was good but not spicy at all. The roasted squab had the right flavorbut personally expected the skin to be less fatty and crispier. Other dishes were avaergae and overly priced imo. A popular authentic Chinese restaurant that attracts all walks of life. Make a reservation before you go there. Their signature... crab dish is a must. If your party is small, I'd recommend beef brisket and turnips in a clay pot. Tea smoked chicken is alsoone of my favorites. Use the Portsmouth square plaza garage, and they can validate the parking ticket for $5 if you spend morethan $60. Read more
Great service and fantastic food. We saw most tables had the whole fried crab, so we had to order one and it was perfectly... cooked and so delicious. Ordered the half Peking duck, but would have gotten a whole one if we knew how good it was. I do notlike Chinese melon, but could not get enough of the melon and greens with dried scallop gravy. The R&G special beef did notlook so good, but was one of the best beef dish I've ever had. Read more
Definitely recommend the salt and pepper crab. It?s a bit messy, but flavors are amazing. Also got the bean curds stuffed with... prawns and the eggplant in garlic sauce. Both tasted great and portion sizes were big enough for two people to take leftovershome. Read more
It?s really a fantastic place to try Chinese traditional food there especially with family or friends. All is freshly and... quality! I did try some similar style restaurants but I can tell you that much, this one is awesome ???? but I do like to go toduring lunch time , you have to reserve table if you want to have dinner there. Okay, just wow. Pricey but worth it, like I've never tasted crab like the one I tasted here. The salt and pepper deep fried... crab. I'll remember it forever ???? the black chicken soup and Peking duck were amazing as well. I mean this place wasphenomenal. The beef brisket with turnip in a clay pot is excellent. The meat is amazingly tender, while the broth is flavorful yet light.... Note that it doesn't come with any carbs, so I'd recommend a regular bowl of rice to accompany this. Read more
