Reviews for Quince in San Francisco, CA
Food is mediocre at the best. Geoduck, mussel and mackerel were not fresh and fishy. The best were the asparagus and the wagyu.... But predictable. Mousse dessert was nothing but great. It was not bad. Just mediocre. The entire menu was just ripping off. Ifelt no passion from the chef other than the purpose of charging people as much as possible. The wine paring was a bigger joke. Most of them were white wine. Michelins stars here at the Bay Area were jokes compared to nyc." Read more
This was a really great experience. Came for my birthday. Drinks were great including the bartenders sazerac rendition. Great... starting bites that were fresh with excellent texture. The crawfish was probably the best I?ve had in terms of being cookedperfectly. The plate cleanser was so refreshing. Dessert was beautiful and amazing. Loved the small touches and appreciated mysigned menu at the end of the evening. The to-go hot chocolate at the end for our evening stroll was really appreciated. Read more
Well said, it?s a food journey & well deserved to be known as a Michelin Star Restaurant!
An incredible fine dining experience. The guava granita was the best dessert I've ever had in my life. Quince makes for a very... pleasant and memorable evening. Special occasions only, as it's very expensive. Read more
Excellent food but rather 'traditional'. Nothing so creative, even in the full tasting menu, that one can acclaim "I've never... had anything like this before." The dining room can be a tiny bit brighter. A middle-aged person might have problem reading themenu without his phone's magnifier. Read more
Wine pairing price = $275 Value (retail) = $101 <--- Highest retail value pairing in San Francisco of the 25 I've... itemized. Markup = 270% ???????????? One of the better wine pairing values in San Francisco with only a 2.7x markup on retailfor our December 2019 visit. For other 3-star restaurants, Singlethread was 3x in March 2019 and their Kistler location was2.1x in October 2020 (though at Kistler they almost exclusively pour their own wines so it lacks some diversity). Winesincluded champagne, 4 whites, 4 reds, and a dessert wine. We were able to revisit the first red poured when we sheepishly askedquickly emptying our glasses when we went for seconds on the smoked butter croissants. For other 1-star restaurants around thesame time Mourad was 3.8x and Lord Stanley was 3.7x. The food incredible. Service is impeccable. It's worth visiting for aspecial occasion! Read more
Awesome venue and very comfortable and friendly dining experience, on top of the impeccable dishes! You will feel fully... satisfied in every course! The only pity is the 25% service charge seems to be on the high side. Read more
Pretty extraordinary stuff, from the origin stories behind the humble plates and cutlery to the carefully selected and blended... ingredients - even the non descript English peas shine when blended with Bay crayfish. Ever present, friendly service. Surroundings are a bit dark and stuffy but that's quibbling for a truly special food experience. Read more
