I come to Palmer's for happy hour on occasion, as the drinks are really good at a reasonable price. The food is decent but... nothing to get excited about--except the burger, which is great. I always sit outside, and the service is usually good. Read more

Palmer Tavern makes a great first impression. And it's well deserved. We visited PT late on a Tuesday, right around last call.... I was immediately impressed by the warm and welcoming decor. Super classy. They also have a ton of outdoor seating. I wasable to enjoy one cocktail and it was well prepared and tasty. Our server was friendly and a real pro. I will return to thePalmer Tavern without hesitation. Read more

My partner and I went for happy hour yesterday at 4:30 and were greeted by the host who seemed upset that we walked in. We had... not said a word yet and their facial expression and tone was giving the first impression that we were inconveniencing them. Theyasked if they could help us in a pointed way. My partner and I were taken aback by this introduction while just trying to askfor a table. Our server was fine but did the bare minimum of service. We spent quite a bit for drinks that were poorly mixedand a greeting that made us not want to even sit down in the first place. We do not expect to return for mid food and drinksand a off putting greeting to the establishment. Which is a shame because the atmosphere alone is lovely. Read more

Happy Hour. Arrived at 4:00 PM. Sat outside. Great server. Enjoyed two sliders, spicy meatballs and two half wedges of iceberg... lettuce with the most amazing dressing. Read more

I returned tonight on 5/2/22 after several months of staying away. I have always had very pleasant experiences at this upscale... establishment. However, tonight was an exception. Not only was the bar tender seemingly unable make a decent cocktail, he alsolacked basic hygiene and looked deshelved with his sleeves roll up and talking with food in his mouth. The bartender was eatingin between making drinks, and wiping his mouth with his bare hands and then handling ice cubes with his fingers without washinghis hands. Not only is this unprofessional and unsavory, it is potentially unhealthy for the patrons. Better training isneeded. You should be able to enjoy a fifteen dollar cocktail without weighing the risks if it is going to make you sick ornot. I was rather disappointed as this was one of my favorite places in SF to enjoy a relaxing drink amongst other politepatrons. Read more

Food is generally good. The wiener schnitzel was overcooked and dried out. The biggest issue was we had a reservation for 6... people and they put us in a booth sized for 4. We couldn't even move our arms. We asked for another table but instead they addeda chair to the end. We managed but it was very cramped. Read more

Great date place. Monday nights SF good. Food very good to excellent. The kale salad is absolutely perfect. Real kale and not... too much dressing, as my girlfriend agrees. The drinks are great and the post Covid (3/12/22) atmosphere is excellent. Read more
