Celebrated a birthday dinner & had a great meal. ~$160pp, ordered nearly the entire menu 2x with 2-3 bottles of wine. Faves... included the sea urchin pasta, tomato salad, & fish. Sat in the cabin like outdoor seating, & it was definitely warm enough ona cool night. Read more

Read the reviews and had pretty high expectations that unfortunately did not live up to the hype. There were three of us and we... had the tasting menu with two wine pairings. The bill was 500+ tip. Given that the food was average at best I was extremelydisappointed. Nothing stood out except for the deep fried asparagus as a starter. Everything else except for the desserts wasmediocre at best. The wines, however were exceptional. What really stood out was how they just brought plates and left them inthe middle of the table without side plates. The fact that they couldn?t be bothered to make small plates for each person andbring them separately blew my mind. A couple of the courses were rushed and for dessert they even forgot the wines for thepairing. Looking at the pics now I?m wondering how the food could be so average when it looks so good in the photos. This ofcourse excludes the asparagus, the wines and the desert which was five star. Octavia is a fun, creative, exciting project that I was very happy to support and experience and would just as happily send you... all its direction too, I just felt that it was slightly overpriced for the quality and execution of what we got. Two of thedishes we ordered they didn't have, despite the best efforts of our server, Molly, who was excellent all-round. And while thatsort of in-the-moment drying out of resources doesn't and shouldn't reflect on the restaurant overall, it did affect ourexperience that night, and is partially reflected in my rating, though we hold nothing against the place and it was a bitunlucky. Definitely get dessert if you go, that's where they shine brightest. A fun and worthwhile experience. Read more

Very good food with good raw ingredients. Really loved the lamb. The artichokes were not as good as I expected. The salad was... basic, but good fresh products Read more

Fresh ingredients and pastas, meticulously prepared dishes. Lamb giblets was amazing. Pesto pasta was too mild, with no real... flavor. Extensive wine list. Read more

Good food - the bread, wine, service were all well-crafted, if not forever memorable (green garlic custard /chawunmushi was... pretty, but flavorless). That said, while I am not a dessert person, WOW on the sunchoke hazelnut finale. That was one of myfavorite finishes ever! Read more

I went to Octavia for the first time and had the tasting menu (and a couple of other dishes) paired with selected wines. I've... been to many culinary events pre-covid, and this meal was off the charts delicious! Who knew a salad could be so amazing! And Icouldn't get enough of the quail. Their sommelier, Iris, is brilliant in her wine pairings! Everything was excellent and servicewas impeccable! Read more

I?m so glad they are back open! This place is such a gem in Sf. Every time I came here the service, food, and ambiance is... through the roof impressive. Parking is also easy to find! Make reservations ahead of time they do sell out. This time i did atasting menu and have done a la carte previously. I would say do tasting menu if you are with a group of 2. A la carte if youhave 4+ to share. Read more
