It has been a while since I last ordered from here, and I?m seeing a lot of bad reviews commenting about poor customer service... and food quality. From what I remember, the food here was delicious and well done. The employees were nice and the bathroomswere some of the cleanest in SF. Since 19 80something North Beach Pizza has been serving pizzas to SF. They are also known as the one of founders of Pizza... business at San Francisco North Beach neighborhood. I love older established restaurants and this is one I definitely loved.. Icame here to meet with a friend and we had a couple of slices. So on we decided to take a seat outside to try something else, Ihad an incredible gnocchi. My slice was a simple pizza but the taste was so spot-on what pizza should taste like. I had aMargherita and the simple toppings of tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese and basil were fresh and perfect! This is definitelyplace I would love to return to and try out their different toppings. Wow, let me tell you about this pizza! Not only was it fast but soooooo fresh. The price is a little steep compared to your... average pizza joint you might visit in Oakland but given the area it's very reasonable! Soda is served in a can like most SFplaces. The staff is very friendly and quick to make you happy with any request. The ambiance is also very calming with softlighting and excellent decor through out the whole restaurant! This was the second time we ordered the pizza from North Beach Pizza. We ordered two pizzas, the Golden Gate (pesto sauce topped... with chicken, onion, mushroom), San Francisco (tomato sauce topped with minced garlic and clam meat), and fried calamari. AfterI tried both, I would say that I liked San Francisco more because I liked the tomato sauce better. The Golden Gate was not toobad and if you like pesto sauce, you should try this one. The fried calamari was not so good because they were a bit too chewyand not very crunchy. So far, I would say that they are pretty good but just not the fried calamari lol. Read more
