Reviews for Nojo Ramen Tavern in San Francisco, CA
Met up here with some friends, first time SC visit and a friend told me I had to had ramen. The friends are locals and decided... on this spot to take us. A party of 4 with reservations were seated within ten minutes. We were not provided menus, we satoutside and scanned barcodes for access to the menu. We took our time Ordering, and online the order process was quick and wepaid for our food as we ordered, which was nice as we didn?t have to figure out to split a tab. The food arrived promptly andwas good. All the appetizers were tasty. We got the Calimari, edamame, Goyza and shishito, and noju fries. All were deliciousand worth it. I ordered the ten ten ramen for dinner. It was yummy, but the noodles were overcooked and the broth was NOTspicy. Overall I enjoyed my experience, but if SF is supposed to be good at noodles this place ain?t reppin right. Maybe I wenton an off night. Ippudo is still the best ramen I?ve had. Read more
My friend and I went there for the first time because he wanted to try out this ramen place. We waited for 5-10 minutes to get... our table. Both indoor and outdoor sitting were available, we decided to sit inside because it was quite windy out there. Theorder process was simple, we just needed to scan the QR Code to order what we wanted. We ordered some appetizers, Edamame(soybeans flavored with salt), Yuzu Miso Cucumber, and Nojo fries. Edamame is one of my favorite appetizers in Japaneserestaurants (must order). It was good in general. The cucumber was a bit salty. I really liked the Nojo fries because the friesand Japanese okonomiyaki sauce and red pepper powder mixed were very tasty, and I had them put the mayo on the side. I orderedthe Tomato Paitan and my friend got the Soy Sauce Tori Paitan. I tried out both broths, I would say they were both a bit saltyfor me, but the noodles were pretty good. They served the food pretty quick. I guess I will go back to this place next time andwill recommend it to people who like ramen. Read more
Wow! I am a huge ramen fan and I have to say that their Signature Ramen, Soy Sauce Tori Paitan, is top 3 of all time. Don't make... the same mistake I made by ordering anything else. If you're the type to order different items with friends/ significant otherso you can try everything, this is NOT the place to do it. I did that my first time and I just ended up sulking around until mygirlfriend was full so I can clean up her remaining Soy Sauce Tori Paitan ramen. Both indoor and outdoor sitting available. There can be a line to be seated, but the wait was never too bad. You order and pay for everything on your phone. The serversjust bring you your order. If you are a ramen person, this is a MUST try. Again, do not order anything else but their SignatureRamen. Expect to pay $30-35 per person. Read more
I had a great experience when dining here. I was greeted and brought to the table. There is a QR code on the table so that... everyone can order on their own with their own credit cards or you can all order at once on your phone. If you are sensitive tospiciness, make sure you put the oil and chili on the side so you can control how spicy you want your meal. If you want to orderan item for to-go, make sure you let someone know so that they don't accidentally plate it. They were so nice and attentive whenwater was low and when we accidentally dropped our chopsticks haha. Thank you for your great service Mojo Ramen team. Read more
I was super surprised and impressed by this place. I heard good things but I was a bit taken aback to see that all of their... signatures were chicken-based broth and their core had a big chicken leg in it, ordered it pretty hesitantly. Wow, it wasfantastic. Noodles were perfect -- a tiny bit tough at first / on top, so they're still cooking/soaking and are the perfecttexture once you get into the heart of it rather than being too soft later on. Broth was delicious and toppings werewell-chosen. The chicken was what I was most hesitant about, and just like the noodles it was a bit of a challenge at first --and then as soon as it's been in the broth for a couple minutes, the meat is practically falling off the bone. Compliments theflavors so well and is easy to eat. I emptied the bowl, broth and all, it was incredible. Staff were also super helpful andsweet and attentive without being overbearing. You order and everything through a QR code which I was a bit miffed about atfirst but it seems like it translates to great service from the time they save so I really can't complain. Really fantasticplace, may well be my favorite ramen joint in SF. Read more
Before visiting Nojo, I had only tried Ramen a couple of times and didn't love it. I ordered the Soy Sauce Chicken Ramen and it... was SO good! (they were out of chicken leg pieces and offered chicken meatballs instead, which were great). The broth tasted sodelicious (I added some of the "spice bomb" to the bomb - definitely get that on the side if you like your food spicy) and iwould totally come back and order the exact same dish. The house Sake was very good as well and tasted a little bit of thefruit chickoo. Apart from that the service was quick, portions were large, indoor dining was comfortable. Read more
I was pleasantly surprised by this ramen restaurant because normally I like pork based broth and this restaurant has chicken... based broth. In the signature ramen, the broth was flavorful and rich and the chicken meat was tender and juicy and huge too!Highly recommend! Add their house made spicy sauce for additional flavor. The chicken nanban is also a must get, I was sosurprised at how juicy the fritters were and wanted to order another one for the table. Read more
Food is great! Chicken is juicy and tender. Hard to tell if the broth is rich or just salty but tasted really good. Noodle... itself is on point. Food is a 10/10. The place is a little chaotic and service can be improved but I think food is what mostpeople come here for. Join waitlist ahead of time on Yelp. Read more
