Cute and cozy Columbian/Venezuelan restaurant, we made reservations and due to the size I would recommend making a reservation.... They do also have outdoor seating. Parking was easy to find which is not always the case in San Francisco. Loved our meal andthe service was great. We wanted to try as much as possible so we shared a couple appetizers and entrees With every dish assoon as they were bringing it to the table, you could just smell how amazing each dish was going to be. Ordered: ????CrispyBrussel Sprouts with caper aioli. 10/10 and I'm not a fan of brussel sprouts these were wonderful! ????Patacones (fried greenplantains) 8/10 not bad just not as impressive as everything else we ordered ????Classic Arepas (shredded beef) 10/10 ???? This was the best culinary experience I had in SF. Is the perfect mix of true to its roots and adaptation to the American... paladar. The service was also more than amazing. I am going back (more than once) without a doubt. Would recommend it with myeyes closed to anyone and even that wants to eat great and have a good time. Read more
Finally made it to Mamo, which is just across the street from our condo. It?s a cute little place and has great food and... service. We had reservations but didn?t realize we had to request indoors/outdoors before arriving. The inside is not thatbig, so we were only able to sit at a bar like area if we wanted to sit inside. We opted for outdoor seating which is fineduring this pandemic. Service was good; the wait staff were very attentive and checked in with us quite often. Food wasdelish. It was a little on the saltier side for me, but flavors were all there. I had the Pabellon Criollo which is shreddedbeef with rice, black beans and sweet plantains. My friend got the Bavette Steak over chimichurri w/truffle yucca fries. Shedidn?t finish hers, so we took it home and I had it as a snack after my workout. We shared the brussel sprouts which was alsovery delish. We brought our own wine and I believe corkage was $20. Place was empty and I have no idea why. The food was absolutely amazing. I?ve never had avocado burrata and I can tell you,... it?s not something you want to miss. It came with only 4 pieces of bread so definitely ask for more - there?s more burrata thanbread which is a good problem to have. We each ordered an arepa. My friend ordered the Mamo special and I ordered the veganarepa. At first I thought, this is just an arepa full of black beans and it will be a let down. BUT somehow, especially when youput the sauce on, it tasted wonderful. Lots of flavor, plantains we?re in there too. It?s super filling even though it?s justone. Excellent Latin American food. Very small restaurant and not too fancy in terms of ambiance. But the food is amazing. The... arepa is freshly made, and the Colombian potato soup is very authentic, with creamy potatoes and makes for a hearty meal. Willdefinitely come back. Read more
