Reviews for Loló in San Francisco, CA
Lolo exceeded my expectations in every way. This place was praised on a ton of food blogs and albeit pricey, it is worth every... penny. The plates are tapas style. The food is fresh and the menu is creative. There is a large list of cocktails, wine, andbeer. The food gives authentic Mexican with New American vibes. The owner pours her heart and soul into this place and it shows.I was told by a local patron that she seasonally interchanges the decor and does it all herself. The service staff is fast, efficient, and enthusiastic. The empanadas and seared tuna tacon were amongst my favorites but legit everything we ordered wasbomb. Highly recommended! Read more
The best ceviche in San Francisco! Perfect balance of spiciness, freshness, acidity, and crunch ???? Outside of ceviche, we also... ordered empanadas and tuna tacos. Tuna tacos were so yummy that we ended up taking a second portion. Lolo offers a largeselection of wines and also vegetarian food options which isn?t always the case at Mexican restaurants. Read more
This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. Not your standard quick Taqueria! This is the highest Mexican Cuisine you can get. And... the decoration of the place is fantastic with great art installations! Read more
Wow ???? Please come to Texas. What a fabulous find for an amazingly delicious dinner. Hubby had the Grillos Tostadas? yes, it... was crickets. Delicious. I had the Birre tacos and it was heaven on a plate. So satisfying and filling without the huge fillersnormally used (rice and beans). Juan Carlo and his staff do an excellent job at service and recommendations. We will be back andrecommend Lolo to friends. Read more
This place is pretty lit. We came to get a giant piece of steak to share but it's not longer in the menu :(. Instead we shared... the carnitas nacho which was yummy. Then the birria quesadilla is so juicy and meaty. The taco tropical (shrimp) is so good andjuicy with fruits and shrimp. Highly recommend this place if you're with some friends. (We were able to just walk in aninstantly get seated). Read more
great food, great ambience, and great cocktails! just make sure you make a reservation or put yourself on the waitlist at least... an hour before you're hoping to be seated. all the food we tried was fantastic, but be warned that the portions can be a littlesmall for the price. highly recommend the ceviche to share as an appetizer - we shared among a group of 4. it has shrimp andoctopus, and comes with copious amounts of tortilla chips. we also loved the taco tropical, chicken empanadas, chile relleno, birria tacos, and chile relleno. as for cocktails, you can't go wrong with any of them - a classic margarita or an adventuroussour milk cocktail are both good ways to go! for dessert, we shared the flan and it was delicious - so sweet and creamy! The arugula salad was simple yet tasty (you?d hate to see a miss here) ???? I?d go again butwouldn?t wait more than 15 minutes for a table ???????? Read more
The most impressive and best Mexican food I've ever had. I am so excited to keep coming back here. There are three things that... are so impressive. First, this food is perfectly balanced. It's got a clear theme for the dish but incorporates a lot ofelements of flavour that really elevate it. For instance, I thought everything was perfectly seasoned, but beyond that, incorporated the right amount of rich and sour elements to really boost it. Second, of the 4 different menu items I tried, ILOVED all of them. Rare is it that there are that many menu items I will be excited to keep eating. Third, I thought a lot ofthe menu items were inventive. At least with what I've had in the past, these incorporated new twists or elements that made itat least slightly better than anywhere else. So overall, this might just be my favourite restaurant in the bay area. This comesfrom someone who doesn't often seek out Mexican food. But, to their team, huge kudos the food blew my mind away. Now on otherelements, service was pretty great. We were well attended to (the only mistake was forgetting to give us napkins, but they camequickly on request). We got water brought continually throughout the night. The food is a tad pricier (expect 2 dishes a person, about $30 a head on food) but I think this is well fair, I left full and so happy I ate every bite. So yeah, this place is asolid 10/5. Read more
