Reviews for Little Star Pizza in San Francisco, CA

First time order was pickup, so I will give the benefit of the doubt with an extra star on what I considered a three star pizza.... I did a BYO pizza with vegan cheese, spinach, artichokes, and pepperoncini. I have mixed feelings about the portions: generousserving of artichokes (yay) and vegan cheese (maybe not so yay), a little slim on the spinach, and no pepperoncini in sight --at $2 a topping for a 9" pizza, I am counting every pickled pepper. I forgot cash to tip, so I will consider it collateral. Thecrust was a miss for me, as I couldn't tell if the goal was thin-and-crispy or thin-and-chewy and it ultimately wasthin-and-tough. Understandably, deep dish is their specialty, but sadly, that is not an option for vegans. The true star of theshow was the sauce. I wish I asked for extra, as the flavor was muted with the heaps of cheeze. Although I'm appreciative of thegenerosity, a more balanced pie would have solidified my rating. Staff was accommodating over the phone when I made an error onordering the cheese and service was polite and brief upon pickup. I will return for a dine-in redemption round. Read more

Fantastic pizza joint! Deep dish and thin crust offerings. Both were delicious and the server's tip of adding a little honey... along the deep dish crust was spot on! Stopped in at lunch and they had specially priced personal pizzas, small salads and ofcourse pitchers of beer. What more could you want?! Service was super friendly too. Read more

The deep dish pizza had a watery texture for the filling which I didn't enjoy. Not much flavor other than the tomatoes. The... sourdough garlic bread was pretty bad, the garlics weren't even mashed. Overall not worth the hype. Read more

It's so awesome when a place is just as good as you remember it. So delicious! The deep dish crust is insanely good. One pizza... will stuff 4 people. Great bang for the buck. Read more

This place is a local favorite and rightly so! I really enjoyed their deep dish pizza (although I went way beyond my calorie... limit) and have only good things to say about it. We got half and half - one half of the pizza was the little star original(stuffed with mushrooms and a few other veggies with a strong garlic under taste). The other half was their veggie offeringwhich was my favorite - it had zucchini, mushrooms and a bunch of other vegetables which all complimented each other. Each slicewas quite huge and one can be pretty full with two slices. The crust I assume was cornbread and was super delicious. The honeyadded a nice touch to it. We got a Mexican coke as well which complimented the pizza nicely. The space is nicely done althoughthere weren?t too many people dining indoors. The service was excellent but it does take around 20-30 minutes to prepare deepdish pizzas. So be ready. Bathrooms were clean. Read more
