Went here on a Friday night and it was quite busy but we got a place to sit right away. We recently moved to the Bay area and... had been looking for a good Thai place (similar to Thai Villa in NYC). This place definitely stood up to the standards. Weordered the Lao Rice, Red Curry with chicken, hot thaidy (Christmas special drink) and mai tai. The food was perfect balance ofspicy and flavorful.! It was exactly what we were looking for! I believe it is a BYOB as well. We would definitely visit againand try other items on their menu! Read more

The ambiance is very fun - pink & purple light, and staff will ring the bells to celebrate one’s birthday. The food is not bad... at all but I wasn’t impressed. Pretty good experience! Read more

Lao Table is always my go-to for Asian fusion when eating downtown with coworkers. It's super close to Montgomery BART and... always has tables available if you make a reservation. Prior to the pandemic, they used to have some nice lunch specialsincluding elaborate family style meals for larger groups, but their menu has changed (and portions are smaller now). Thisrestaurant has a lot of dishes which are similar to Thai or Burmese food: papaya salad, drunken noodles, fried rice, curries, etc. Be aware of the spice level! For the papaya salad, we went with medium and "lao style" - we didn't realize how spicy thiswould be, it pretty much blew my taste buds out for the rest of the meal! The seafood stir fry was tasty and the shrimp werecooked to perfection. Thank goodness I had the fresh coconut water. Read more

Ordered the happy hour platter and it was alright. The platter includes sausages, chicken wings, oysters, and calamari. Their... thai iced tea comes with a paper straw that isn’t very durable so expect your straw to be unusable about halfway through yourdrink unless you drink it very quickly. The restaurant is easy to find and there’s ample seating inside. The host greeted andseated us quickly. The server seemed very nonchalant and spoke without eye contact or enthusiasm. We were checked on throughoutthe meal. The washrooms are clean and accessible. Decor is nice and well thought out. The music is odd because you’ll hearbachata music, then kpop, slow jams, and then a random genre. Read more

Good food and good service. They have a pretty good happy hour menu from 5-7 pm. Everything is priced reasonably. They tend to... be busy so you might want to call ahead and make a reservation first. Read more

Lao Table was the best place to host our wedding reception!! When planning our wedding we lived a few states away and found this... amazing place. We didn't get the wedding planning experience to test the food out before deciding to go with Lao Table but weare so glad that we picked this place! We emailed Tasha, the manager, and after some decision making we decided to choose LaoTable for our event. Little did we know their food was SOO AMAZING! Their service was beyond our expectation and accommodationsto all our needs were met and MORE! We communicated through email and talking on the phone and she showed me pictures of therestaurant and decor options. Manager and Owner were so helpful and very accommodating. I couldn't be happier, especially on theday of the event. My husband and I were just so amazed how much effort and time they all took to help make our day just so muchmore special for us. We were so shocked at how perfect everything was and we are just so satisfied with their service, FOOD &Drinks!! If you are planning your next event I would highly suggest booking Lao Table, they know how to host! Read more

Purely from the food perspective, I would give Lao Table 4 stars. The ingredients are solid, and cooked well with great... presentation. Yes, there are times when something is too "spiced" and garnished unnecessarily, or the sauce does not gelperfectly with the food, but they well make up for it in how they put it together. The visuals are mouth-watering, and itdefinitely helps. Tuna poke was a bit heavy on seasoning, grilled squid and chicken satay was bland and expected us tocompensate with sauce (which is somewhat a different way of mixing taste), the pho duck was a bit dry, etc. Don't get me wrong -the food is good. But it won't widen your eyes upon first bite. Special hats off to the Thai Iced Tea shaved ice (cha yen). Thisis a MUST HAVE! Now why the upgrade to 5 stars. We had a great time. The service was great, food delivery was fast, and justthe overall atmosphere of the restaurant truly encourages a great time between colleagues, friends and family. We're definitelyreturning again on the next opportunity! Yes, it could feel a bit over-priced. But for the overall value we got, we'd repeat itany day. Read more
