All in all my favorite sandwich in the city. The food and service at Fox and Lion feel completely down to earth yet still full... of passion, and the price is great. I find it really standing out in a city full of over-priced, highly-marketed restaurants.The sandwich is gourmet quality while the price tag is very approachable. The ingredients are visibly very fresh, thebaked-in-house bread is always excellent, the sauce and olive oil really elevate the presentation and taste. My favorite istheir Janga's Club the very friendly lady at the shop recommended it to me the first time I visited here after a long run. Is itBIG! A three-decker stacked with lots of turkey, salami, cheese, and veggies, it tastes fresh and flavorful, and definitelysatisfied my huge and eager appetite. We decided to check this place out because of Yelp! Its literally a small cute little place. I ordered a lox bagel and my... boyfriend got a grilled cheese with ham. So glad I finally made it back to the Thursday Mission Community Farmer's Market and bought their bread! It is now a favorite of... ours. There was a little glitch a few weeks back when Xan, the owner and baker had to get used to a new oven but it was just aone time thing and having played with baking bread myself, I understood and it was no big deal to me. Love all the breads we'vesampled so far! They use freshly milled flour and it shows. Delicious!! Thank you Xan for the hard work and love you put in yourbread ( haven't tried the cookies and other treats but perhaps I should...!). Note sure of the address (around 18th st in theMission?) but I found out they'll be opening a shop in the fall, moving from another location, which will be great when theFarmer's market closes for the winter.
