We did the airbnb experience cooking class. It was a lot of fun, informative, and a great way to enjoy a meal with new people.

My goodness gracious. You can taste the love in this food and the owner is so kind. I had the fufu, egusi w/lamb, jollof rice,... and plantains. This meal was so divine. The spices and flavor of the egusi is like nothing I've ever had before- would highlyrecommend. Portions are very very generous. Read more

Such a fun evening! A group of us went to Eko last night for dinner and drinks and we sat on the back patio. The staff could not... have been nicer! It's an interesting spot because it's in a shared restaurant space called Merkato which offers Mexican food.So the experience feels like a speakeasy...if you don't know now you know???? We asked for the Eko menu instead of the regularand our mouths started watering. Everything sounded delicious, so I ordered the stewed spinach with chicken and rice, but myfriends gave me tastes of their plantains and porridge. To top off the night we got these gorgeous nutmeg-sprinkled doughnutholes. I can't remember what they're called, but I'm having one for breakfast today ???? If you're looking for the feeling of ahome cooked meal with a dash of pizzazz, Eko is the place. Read more

My husband and I were searching for Beninese/Nigerian food and he found Eko Kitchen on a list of black woman owned businesses.... The pounded yams and Egusi soup are incredible, we have not been able to find them anywhere but West Africa. The cinnamon PuffPuffs were excellent and a sweet treat after the meal. The staff was super friendly and helpful, I will 100% go back soon andorder online via Grubhub!! I highly recommend Eko Kitchen!! Read more

Delicious, authentic Nigerian in San Francisco. I have only tried Nigerian cuisine one other time so I was excited to try it... again...especially in a great foodie city like San Francisco! Eko Kitchen did not disappoint. Unfortunately, we were only ableto take out due to Covid but even after the ride to our hotel, the food was hot and fresh. Started with the Akara which werefried crisp and delicious. Jollof with chicken and fried plantains was the main course and both were very tasty. Finished themeal with puff puff. The food was deliciously spicy! Many other reviewers mentioned portion sizes. I found the portions to beenormous...more than we could eat of everything. I definitely recommend this place to anyone! After reading the Eater feature on Eko Kitchen last week, I made a reservation to check it out for Sunday dinner. I have no... prior experience with Nigerian food but I was excited to try it. I'm glad that Eko Kitchen fills this culinary gap in SF. I hadthe Sunday Supper Combo ($15), which came with jollof rice, naija fried rice, naija native rice, honey glazed chicken wings, andfried plantains. The price was good but portion size was relatively small. I really enjoyed the texture and sweetness of theplantains as well as how much spices were in each of the rice dishes. The chicken wings were tiny and tasted very average to me.He ordered a side of the special, which was some sort of goat stew ($10). I don't know if I've ever had goat before but healways talks about how much he loves goat meat and I'm glad we could try some here. We both thought that the goat could've beenmore tender but overall, the flavor was excellent. Eko Kitchen is a very special place and I definitely recommend people giveit a chance. Read more

This place is amazing. I cant believe I'm only just finding it. The food is ridiculously good and they are really good people... there. Everyone is so nice. I went last weekend and the menu was traditional Nigerian classics, which is exactly what I waslooking for. This week I had to come back. They did a different menu this time, Afro-Latin. Equally as fantastic. Cant wait tosee what they cook up next week! Read more
