As other reviewers have written, the CP 3, Mom?s meatballs and JoJo?s Bollito were meaty and pricey at $16 per sandwich not... including tax and 15% gratuity on top . My favorite was the CP 3 for the excellent pork fillings! We were disappointed in theGombo-Ppang of which 4 ?donuts? were sold to us dry and a day old at the original price of $5 . They either should have beensold for a significant discount or been sold as ?day old? product . We absolutely missed out on the yeasty fluffy peanut donutwith custard filling by not buying the day of creation. But as seeing it is not on the present menu, I guess it wasn?t the bestseller especially with its short shelf life. Read more

This place is so damn good. The egg salad sandwich was probably the best I?ve ever had, and the Bollito was ????????. I?m... definitely going to make this a regular spot. Read more

It was good. Very good.\n\nThe star of the show is the bread. Perfect in every way.\n\nThe sandwiches are large, but because the... bread is both fluffy and crunchy I didn\'t feel overly full afterwards.\n\nMy only disappointment was that they used Jalapeñorather than birds eye chilli\'s in their \"Bahn mi\". This is a personal thing, but I cannot find a place that doesn\'t doJalapeños and I find it just wrong. Was hoping ...\n\nVery good. But expensive. Read more

UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW:\n\nStaff remains really friendly and helpful. Ordered online this time and the pick up process... was really smooth, fast and easy.\n\nWe got two of the CP No3. (Banh Mi). Very tasty sandwich! Don\'t know if it really feltlike a Banh Mi (the lack of pickles as others have mentioned for sure is a factor here). That said, it\'s genuinely very tastyand with everything involved here (good quality meats and home made bread) it certainly feels more worth the $16 than the eggsalad.\n\n***I still think that $16 before tax and tip for an egg salad sandwich is nuts even here in SF.\n\nWe also got 2 ofthe cookies, they generously included the 3rd cookie they make gratis. I think the chocolate chip is excellent, the oatmealraisin is great, peanut butter I would not order again.\n\nThe passionfruit spritz thing is still delicious as was theVietnamese icedcoffee!\n\n////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////\n////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////\n\nORIGINAL3 STAR REVIEW:\nCharles Phan is a famous SF chef. We were stoked to see him opening an egg sandwich and banh mi shop in themission. We went on their very first day so please take that into consideration when reading (we do plan to revisit and updatethis review in a few weeks).\n\nTLDR SPACE:\nGorgeous space with a beautiful little shop full of fancy MM Clay ceramics andinteresting condiments to buy.\n\nTLDR SERVICE:\nEveryone was very nice, thanked us for coming to support them on their firstday and were overall very welcoming and helpful.\n\nTLDR FOOD:\nWe got the meat ball sandwich, egg salad sandwich, and passionfruit sprintz.\n\nThe meatball sub was fine but it just wasn\'t my favorite meatball sub. Over all, not super flavorful, themeatball texture was just kind of mushy and the bread was pretty soggy.\n\nThe egg salad was actually boarder line bad. Really, really felt like the sandwich had bee Read more

Congrats to Chuck?s Takeaway on bringing refinement to the humble banh mi sandwich! I was happy to see they were open on... Presidents? Day and stopped by early afternoon. It was a small but friendly storefront with a small counter to eat in. Iordered the #3, a peanut butter cookie, and an iced coffee. What struck me immediately was the fresh herbs and veggies and thebold clean flavors of the pork and pate. This was all encapsulated by a crisp flaky baguette that had a soft interior. Youcould tell that the employees took pride in working for the business. They were friendly and answered questions. I?m lookingforward to trying something else on the menu on my next visit! My vegetarian eggplant sandwich was delicious. It is extra expensive but that?s how it goes in this town.\n\nMy friend and I... ordered online separately. Our sandwiches were estimated to take two hours but his were done at noon and mine were done ataround 1225 even though I put my order in a few minutes before his. The estimated time they?d be ready was 1245. So anyway Ithink they?re just starting up and they?re very busy so don?t be too big of a rush Read more

I ordered Jo Jo\'s Bollito and it was almost inedible. The Bread and sauce were great. However, there were gobs and gobs of... fat (or something resembling fat) that was so tough it couldn\'t even be chewed. I had to pull it all out of the sandwich, which left a bun and about 1 bite of the succulent braised belly meat. So disappointing. Read more
