Reviews for Bac Lieu Restaurant in San Francisco, CA
First time at this place was great. The food was flavorful and fresh. We were a party of 5 for dinner. We had mini shrimp... pancakes, beef soup, curry and rice, five spiced chicken and garlic noodles, Pho with beef , vermicelli with pork, and shrimpspring rolls. Shrimp spring rolls are one of my favorites . They are wrapped nice and tight here served with a delicious peanutsauce . The five spiced chicken was a thick piece of crispy chicken. At first we were indecisive about what to order and thestaff was very patiently with us in explaining the dishes. We had a great experience. We will definitely be back. Read more
I went to a couple different Vietnamese places while staying in SF, and this was one of the most impressive places. They... recommended Oxtail Beef Stew Noodle Soup, and the taste was exactly same as the one I tried in South Vietnam. Beef was supertender. Taro, Tapioca, and Coconut Milk Dessert is highly recommended for the dessert. It's smooth and you'll like it! Read more
A cozy Vietnamese option in Bernal Heights serving up a nice mix of noodle soups, bun and rare-find appetizers (i.e. banh khot ?... little shrimp pancakes) Very friendly service. The bun bo hue broth could have been a bit deeper in flavor. The noodlesslightly over cooked. But overall tasty. The spring rolls were light and crispy, served with lettuce wraps. Read more

Not the best vegetarian options but there were a good number of them. The crispy egg noodles with veggies was very good. The... vegetarian mini pancakes were a bit bland. The curry with rice was good but could've used more flavour. Tofu was extremely softwhich I liked. Read more
The prices at Bac Lieu went up. The food is still good though. I had the five spice chicken garlic noodles $15 + fried egg... $1.75. It used to be $12. They charge $1 for hot tea. The chicken was a little dry around the edges but they did provide alittle bowl of fish sauce. The food came out quick and service is excellent as usual. My total was $23 with tax and tip. Read more
Ordered takeout - the dishes really exceeded our expectations. We loved the mini savory shrimp pancakes, which are super unique... and delicious! I think there is coconut milk in the batter but the coconut taste is not overpowering at all. We also had papayasalad, woven rice noodle with chicken skewers and shaking beef. Hidden gem - definitely will come back for more! Read more
