Food is great but always takes about an hour to get upon ordering. Management - please do something to improve this. An hour... wait is unreasonable and I?ve been here several times. And all I ever get is the combo plate which shouldn?t take that long. Iappreciate that the workers here are nice but the communication about time and pick up process needs to be clearer and accurate.I keep coming back hoping things are better only to be disappointed again and again by the service. We stopped here for a lunch and it was great. We found a friendly and efficient customer service, very good food, fair priced,... and a good-looking dining area (which is part of a cultural center). Very positive experience in general and I will definitelybe back when in San Diego again. Read more

Great food (we got the combo platter and salad, along with two spinach patties + ice cream!), plus plenty to look at, learn and... appreciate inside. Kind, caring people too! A must-try for vegans and non-vegans alike. Read more

???????? Why does this place not have higher ratings and reviews?! They?ve delicious food! It was? soulful! I?d the Jamaican... patties with spicy cabbage filling - it was flavorful with the perfect amount of spice for me! ???? I also ordered the CostaChica Chili - ???????? it wasn?t hot(spicy) but flavors of many spices came through in the food. I really enjoyed this dish! Ifelt very? satisfied! I?d also ordered the spirulina elixer - it was spicy with strong ginger flavor! If you can handle spicyginger, definitely give this a try! This place offers really heart-warming food! Even if you?re not a vegan/vegetarian -definitely visit this place! ???? Read more

I almost missed this place until I heard ?someone? calling to me trying to get my attention. I later find out it is the parrot... at the entrance ????. Super cute! Overall my experience was absolutely phenomenal. The food is nothing like I could haveimagined. If you are looking to try something healthy, fresh, and culturally unique this is the place to go. I very much enjoyedeating in the relaxing environment of the garden. This place not busy at all which makes the garden feel even more intimate andrelaxing. The salad is fresh hand picked from the garden which is super exciting to watch as your meal is being prepared. Thepresentation of the salad also blew me away?. I mean it looked so pretty I felt guilty eating it at first ????. Service here iswonderful. Everyone is super nice and very passionate about what they do which is nice to see. Definitely eating here again! Read more

The World Beat Cafe is one of those amazing finds in Balboa Park that makes you come back more and more. First off, the food is... Caribbean, vegan, and de-lish-ous! The whole menu is this savory collection of local and ethnic options: curries, gumbos, patties, plantains, fruit juices... much of it comes from their local garden on site. The chef is a pioneer in health food andplant-based diets. Ask about Moringa! Plus, there's always something amazing going on at the Beat, so you get a free show:taiko, capoeria, drumming, dance... all sots of practices and performances. Or just go look at the walls! Or into the garden! The World Beat is a truly magical place that takes care of you with healthy food and feeds your mind with healthy music andcommunity. Read more
