Reviews for Water Grill San Diego in San Diego, CA
My wife and I visited this spot w/ the hopes of enjoying some delicious oysters and sea urchin. Water Grill did not disappoint... at all. We sat near the window and it was a wonderful day. Our waiter was absolutely the best, we don't remember his name buthe was attentive and we even talked about being from New Orleans! Sorry, I got sidetracked. Back to the food, we enjoyed a greatdozen of oysters and sea urchin out of the shell, yum oh yum. Our main dish was lobster and that was cooked perfectly withoutbeing too rubbery. @phidingthefam Read more
A great first time experience! Interior is absolutely gorgeous and very spacious. Menu is quite large and includes a good... variety of cold and hot seafood dishes. Food came out perfectly cooked, at the right temperature, and was extremely fresh. Staffwas super friendly and helpful with describing menu items and making recommendations. Highly recommend! Amazing! So glad we decided to eat dinner here. Oysters were excellent but man-o-man that lobster roll was the best seafood ive... ever had. Get the traditional I promise you you’ll enjoy it! Even on our way back home we wouldn’t shut up about how good itwas. The waitstaff there was super nice and knowledgeable, they were the ones who recommended it! Read more
Great place for lunch. Very nice how the windows slide up and give you an outside feeling while sitting indoors. We liked the... vibes, also for lunch on a weekday. We came with family of 4: 2 seafood entrées (swordfish & tuna), a roll and a salad. Theseafood dishes and roll were really great, both in taste and presentation. Loved it. One remark though: the salad was a bitunderwhelming, especially the presentation (look at food pictures attached): felt like various ingredients of the salad wherejust piled up, with scampi on top (& there was honestly still a small piece of plastic around one of the scampi in the salad).Contrast with the seafood dishes feels significant. Unsure if this presentation is just not fitted to our European taste or iflocal diners think the same... Read more
Really lovely place. And great service and food! Absolutely worth the price. Great ambience. We initially got a reservation for... 2 by mistake instead of 4. They accommodated our request to change it to 4 and were very nice! Restrooms were clean and wellmaintained. The waiter was really helpful and great and made us laugh, shared his story and suggested entrées and dessert allof which were amazing! Ambience - 9/10 Service - 9/10 Food - 9/10 Will definitely visit again! Read more
Really nice restaurant, I loved the service. We sat at the bar because they didn’t have available tables, and they suggested... to make reservations next time. The food is AMAZING great seafood options. You really need to give it a try. Just have in mindthere’s no Valet parking, just public parking around. We parked in the parking in front of the restaurant and it wasaffordable. David our server was above and beyond with us, ask for him. 100% recommended!! Read more
Upscale oyster bar and seafood restaurant located in the heart of downtown San Diego. The atmosphere is rustic yet bright and... airy. In addition to the variety of oysters, they also serve creative dishes including a “sushi nacho” creation that wasunique and yummy. This place fills up fast on the weekends, so be sure to get reservations. Read more
I had the scallops and steak. They both had excellent presentation and both tasted pretty good but neither were amazing. The... scallops had a beautiful crust and a delicious sauce but it was more of an appetizer with the price of an entree and some of thescallops were rubbery. The steak was pretty average but also had a big price tag. The key lime pie was one of the best I've everhad. Read more
