This place is ridiculous in all the best ways. The classic dive bar atmosphere is perfectly on point. The drinks were great. We... had a Paloma made with fresh grapefruit. The steaks were great quality meat and the marinade brought out the flavor. Last theservice was amazing! Can?t wait to comeback. Read more

1st impressions can be deceiving. Place looks beat when you first walk in, very retro tho. Very cool vibe, service was very... good. It didn't seem like a lot of people working but they were attentive and fast. I guess since you cook your own food youshouldn't have to wait lol. We had the ribeye and a salad, I seasoned my own meat with the available seasonings, but you shouldask for guidance. My steak was delicious, salad was just average, bread was really good too. They have music on Sunday nightswhich helps with the vibe, other guests were really friendly too, definitely feels like a neighborhood spot. We will be back! Read more

We always love coming to turf. From the outside it never looks busy but inside is the perfect dive bar vibe. You grill your own... steaks, they have the best garlic bread that you grill to. Read more

Welcome to Flavor Town. Vibes Town. The best restaurant in San Diego. Well, really it?s a bar & grill; but the food is superior... to most restaurants I?ve been to. Some people come here to drink, but I come here just to eat. Can?t beat the prices and thequality of the ingredients. And they have a wonderful grill, which not only cooks great, but offers a fun & invitingexperience. And you get to prepare it just how you like it, which makes the meal feel special in a way. If you don?t cook itthe best your first time, you can learn a lot from observation ; there?s some pretty adept grillers that have developed over theyears of coming here. I learned to grill my buns, tomatoes, and onions that way; and to melt the cheese on my burger. Make sureyou don?t burn the garlic bread (or the burger buns if u choose to grill them)! only takes 1-2 mins to cook. Also, it?s betterto undercook a steak than overcook it, because you can always grill it a bit longer. The ribeye/filet are better than moststeakhouses, you wanna cook them just right! This place has been here since 1950. A staple on the map that hopefully continuesto stand the test of time. Read more

At first I was super skeptical and didn?t understand why I would enjoy paying to grill my own food at a restaurant. I decided... to try it out and I?m so glad I did. First, the drinks were great. I myself had a beer, but my girlfriend had a Manhattan andthey were great. When I was ready to eat I was happy they had a lot of seasoning and sauces to add to the meat. The meat wasvery good quality and savory. The prices are well worth the visit. I definitely can?t wait to take my family here and I can?twait to go back. This is easily one of my new favorite spots in San Diego. Read more

The best. At a bar. And get your steaks. And you cook them yourself. Inside the bar. In San Diego. Amazing.

Truly, the best ?dive bar?/restaurant in San Diego. I wish there was a 6 stars option, honestly. Drinks are ALWAYS amazing (if... you want vacation in a cup, get the Sneaky Tiki). The food is delicious and if it?s cooked wrong you have no one to blame butyourself (the marinated flank steak is making my mouth water just thinking about it). I bring anyone who visits and theyinstantly fall in love too. If you?re looking for a grill your own steak, good drinks, dim lighting and chill vibe place; Ipromise you can?t go wrong with Turf. Also shoutout to Carrie, she makes every visit feel like a party! ???? Read more
