No complaints about the actual food, but the workers are a bit rude and the facility isn?t dog friendly. Usually nothing I would... knock stars off for, but PB is one of the most dog friendly areas in SD; it just doesn?t match the ambiance of the area. Read more
Purists might not like their acai bowls because I've heard that they like the acia not frozen. I'm not one of those people. This... place was my first acai bowl experience (we don't have 'em in Canada) and all I can say is - yum! I think we had one every nightwe were here. My wife tried the acai and wasn't that keen on it, so she had the Willow Smith with real whipped cream instead.Don't these look great? [Update May 2022] I don't know what has happened in the 2+ years we've been away, but the acai bowl Igot this time was nowhere near full. Maybe it was because they were getting ready to close, but now I'm hesitant to come back. Also, they close at 5pm now. That's rather early for a tourist area. Read more
I have been to the mad bear many times and it?s definitely one of the best spots to get a good juice, smoothie, healthy bite, or... açaí bowl. I particularly love their lemononem or whiz latefay drinks. Also by going here you are supporting local businessand they even have a lot of free video games that are free to play?. The only bad note I have is they charged me for a watercup?I felt that was pretty annoying after such a large purchase. Other than that they are solid spot and worth checking out. Read more
Delicious delicious açaí bowl! I don?t know if it was dessert or lunch for me but I absolutely loved it! The service was quick... and efficient and the menu was incredibly long with tons of choices of healthy foods to choose from as well as juices. I washere on vacation but I will definitely make this shop a part of my annual trip at least once if not multiple times next year. Igot the first basic Açaí bowl on the menu that was Açaí blend with cut up bananas, strawberries, blueberries, granola andhoney drizzled on top. Sweet and yummy! Read more

Came here twice for juice, meh. Northside Shack in Point Loma has way better flavor and quality in their smoothies and bowls.... Also, the owner of Mad Beet seems to have an attitude problem, just check out some of the snotty responses to poor reviews(calling your patrons ?Karens? for complaining?yikes) accidentally left my sunglasses and water bottle there, called andverified with staff that my items were there and informing them I would be back to retrieve them - when I got there my itemswere nowhere to be found. They were either stolen or disposed of by the staff. Not the kind of place I will be spending my moneyagain, and others should be wary too, if you have an issue you will be insulted instead of helped. Read more
