Reviews for THE LOT La Jolla in San Diego, CA
i used to really love this place but it’s getting a bit obnoxious for a couple reasons: 1. the waiters/waitresses often talk... in full volume to customers during their pay session, and this usually includes near the end of a movie. nothing like gettingtaken out of your cinema experience by hearing loudly “do you have another card you could pay with?” 2. the prices areoften so high here, so when i come to the Lot, i do expect a great experience. but the prices sometimes make me stay at home andstream a movie there, or find a smaller theater. 3. lastly, and this is most important; The Lot seriously needs to replacetheir projector bulbs. upon seeing ‘NOPE’ yesterday, i felt like asking for my money back. if i’m being honest it reallyseems like about 50-60% brightness and seeing a movie like ‘NOPE’ that is likely 50% in darkness, you need that full scaleof brightness. this is why companies like AMC are killing it with their Dolby experience. please, whoever is reading this thatworks at The Lot, change your bulbs. i read that they were expensive to replace but at this point, what else is there to a movieexperience? if i can’t see the movie as well anymore, why should i be giving my money to watch something… let alone at aplace like The Lot that is more expensive than anyone else. So. SLOW. The space is pretty, and the guac was really good, but at lunch with only 4 tables taken, it took 45 minutes to get... fries ($14???) and additional 10 for guac($18). Don't come hungry. Read more
First of all, the restaurant itself is gorgeous. Unfortunately, they seem to be out of touch with reality. The prices they... charge are in line with an upscale eatery, which would be fine however you cannot charge these prices with horrendous serviceand downright disappointing food. Bad management and training. Steer clear of this place. Read more
The atmosphere, location & design of the restaurant was beautiful & the first waitress we had in the beginning of our service... was excellent & quick & got us our drinks quickly but after they switched waitresses it was horrible. The second waitress wassuper slow, not paying attention to us, had to wave her down to get more water, talking to other co-workers while we are sittingat the table & I wanted to get another drink but she was just not attentive, rude, super slow & I was done cause it was to slow& I wouldn't come back. I wish the restaurant was more aware of the slowness cause we were not the only table waiting forchecks, plates being removed from the tables & maybe asking the guests if they would like another drink. The food was good butthe service was horrible Read more
Awful drinks! This people don’t really know how to make drinks. While spending a nice evening with my friend, I order $180... dollars worth of drinks. The Moscow mules came with orange sirup and no copper cup. “Chill Tito’s” with house disgustingvodka, they think people won’t know the difference? I’m not a connoisseur but I definitely enjoy what I drink. -Theydon’t know the meaning of quality when YOU ASK SPECIFICALLY FOR SOMETHING when You even tell them how to make it. -Rudemanager or whatever her title is but she tried to convince me how the drinks are supposed to be made. I ended up ordering onlyfood for my dog ???? and If my dog wasn’t a good trashcan I bet he wouldn’t eat it. Is my first time complaining ever in mylife publicly. For ME. Besides location and the beautiful evening chatting with my friend, it was an AWFUL, AWFUL, I say itagain, AWFUL EXPERIENCE. Never scheduling my time there again. Read more

Ate here for breakfast/brunch. Sadly, the view with floor to ceiling windows on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning was the only... good thing about this dining experience. Food and drinks were below average in terms of flavor and presentation. There wereissues with what was ordered versus was was delivered to our table (missing items, food overcooked instead over easy), and wesaw our waitress maybe 2x throughout the whole meal. That, plus the prices were high considering the end to end experience fromservice to food. Read more
