Excellent customer service. The staff is so friendly and the food is so good! Haven’t had a Venezuelan breakfast before, but... it was amazing. Got the classics from each section besides the American breakfast. Also the hot chocolate in the cute mug andthe chicha, which my daughter loved. Would definitely come back again. I came across this place looking for a quick coffee and ended up sitting down and relaxing with lemonade and a sandwich! Lol it... was really refreshing and clean!! The lady that served me and my mother our drinks was absolutely kind and sweet! And so is thehost that brought us to the table! I've been here a few times, and tasted items from both brunch and lunch menus. The food has all been very tasty, especially the... different sauces served. Have a lot of coffee/espresso options, as well as nice drink options. The aprepas are amazing! Thereare a ton of options amd you really can't go wrong. If you go with multiple people, start with a Venezuelan board to share, soyou can sample a variety of tapas offered! If you still have room, the churros did not disappoint! Just be prepared for a waitif you come during peak brunch hours on the weekend, but it's worth it! Read more
It is real small restaurant and it is best coffee for Venezuela. I'm Venezuelan and I do miss Venezuela cheese and it was... awesome. You won't regret. I'm glad I found more Venezuela menus. You will love and try it. Arepa is best. Don't forget tryChurro. Read more
First time trying Venezuelan food, and I must say I was very impressed! I ordered one of the Arepas, and was pleasantly... surprised at how good and filling it was. The maize dough paired really well with the rest of the filling. They give you threedifferent homemade salsas, and they are all quite tasty! A pleasant surprise by a local neighbor for a lovely stroll up the street for breakfast. The staff are contagiously inviting as... they are friendly. Service from the greeting when you arrive to the wonderful good-bye when paying the bill. For me, this placeI should not have have said, "bye" to but a "see you soon" would have been more appropriate. The jalapeño, red salsa, cilantrosauces being served on the side was an extra treat. I truly enjoyed my arepas breakfast and overall experience. The CongressCafe has found a new loyal local in me. YOU MUST TRY!!!!! I cannot stress how amazing the food and service was. Yuddy was our server who was absolutely incredible. He... recommend food and drinks for us to try and when we were curious about a drink on the menu he brought us a sample. The employeeshere were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and continuously checked on our table. They were also greatconversationalist which made our experience even more memorable. And to top it all off the place was spotless clean from tablesto bathroom which is always a plus! Both food items we tried were beyond delicious they had us craving more! Both drinksexceeded our expectations. This is definitely my new favorite spot in old town San Diego.
