Reviews for Tenkatori Miramar in San Diego, CA
Kinda disappointed given the rave reviews this place has gotten. Place itself looks a little rough?not a big deal, just noting.... Service was pretty slow?backed up despite not being crowded. Seemed like only 2 guys working as hard as they could but struggledto keep up.\n\nGot the chicken thigh combo and was not impressed. Chicken was very greasy still from the frying and whencombined with the fattiness of the thighs, it was too much. Fries were basically McDonalds fries and way oversalted. Read more
My favorite karaage in San Diego. I always call in my order for take-out, and they are so nice. We always order a the bentos and... usually get an extra order of chicken thighs because between my husband and kids, they always want some extra chicken. We stopby almost anytime we are in the area. The chicken is juicy on the inside and extra crispy on the outside. Read more
This karaage, or Japanese fried chicken is crazy good! The flavor is enjoyable and the chicken is cooked perfectly so it?s juicy... on the inside and crispy on the outside. Will definitely be my go to karaage place from here on out. Read more
This is what karaage is supposed to taste like!! Juicy seasoned thigh pieces with crispy skin! You don?t even need a sauce. A... squeeze of lemon juice makes it a perfect bite of my favorite gluten free fried chicken. Read more

Small clean fast food joint . Good japanese fried chicken with unusual choices like gizzards and cartilage. Very good
I lived in Japan for five years and I?ve eaten some of the best karaage you can buy there like Hachibei. This place is right up... there in flavor, if not better.\nOwners and operators are Japanese with a history in Los Angeles? Japanese dining industry. Thenormal karaage and popcorn is really juicy.\nIt?s made from scratch with their own seasoning and breading. Don?t be fooled aboutit only being 8 or 12 pieces. They?re big, at least two bites per piece. Read more
Great food at a surprisingly good price.\nMost Japanese food is on the more expensive side so to get a karaage bowl at $10 is... really nice.\nThe chicken itself was more crispy than crunchy, the coating clings on the chicken rather than encasing it.\nAlsotried the cartilage and gizzard, cartilage has a nice crunch without being hard and gizzard was tender without being chewy.
