This is a truly authentic Italian Restaurant in Little Italy, San Diego. The pizza Margherita was great and as close as a true... Neapolitan pizza you can get. And the Spaghetti Carbonara was one of the best I ever had. The service was also attentive andfriendly. If you?re in Little Italy San Diego and had to choose one of the many restaurants there, Solunto will not disappoint.100% recommend. Read more

I wouldn't have tried this restaurant if it wasn't the owner (I think so) who posed as a "regular customer" singing praises of... how good this restaurant is. Yes, the food was good, I like the pasta, and also the crispy calamari. The overall environment isgood kind of rowdy. It has an overall homely feels to it. However, it was upon watching how this "regular customer" who goesbehind the bar to take wine for himself and others, helped served the tables and also went into the back of the kitchen that Irealised he wasn't who he claimed to be. I do not like the idea of being lied to. Read more

This was our first time coming here. We were started off with a basket of bread with there marinera sauce. Bread was nice and... soft and sauce was spicey perfect. We were also given a very cold bottle of water. We ordered the pizza piccante, farfale esalccicia, penne quattro formaggi (forgot to take picture), and prosciutto funghi pizza (forgot to take picture). There was 4 ofus and we all shared the food. Penne quattro was made with cream sauce that was very tasty. The bow tie pasta with sausage wasalso very tasty. It was nice and flavorful with a little spiciness to it. My favorite was the piccante pizza. It came with spicysalami and peppers. If you like spiciness you will love this pizza. Pizza funghi with mushrooms and ham was also good, but Ilike the spiciness of the piccante. Sangria was very good. Service the service was good, the place was a little busy, but thestaff was nice and friendly. Bakery and gelato looked yummy, but didn't get to try. We were too full and had no room left fordessert. Will definitely have to go back to try dessert Would definitely recommend eating here. The only downside of going toeat there is that there is no restaurant parking. You have to pay for parking. Parking downtown San Diego can be pricey. 2 hourparking is $25 and for 2 to 10 hours it's $35 which to me is pricey. Read more

Amazing! The food here is as good as homemade. Sauce is perfect, spaghetti and meatballs perfect and the margarita pizza is just... like the ones you find in Italy. Endless assortment of Italian pastries and authentic Italian cookies. Superb wine and cocktailselection. Music reminds me of the 45's my dad used to play. This is a true Italian restaurant. This will be the only place Ieat at when visiting San Diego. Bravissimo!!!xo Read more

The food was good but the service not so much. I waited 15 minutes sitting down on my table before the waiter came to say hi and... take my order. Then waited 25 minutes after asking 2 different people for the check (waiter no where to be seen). I onlyrecommend if you are in no rush at all. Coffee is good and pastries are yummy. Read more

Dined January 31, 2022. Great food, pleasant outdoor heated seating with a canopy overhead. Couldn?t ask for anything more,... dining outdoor in 59F weather, coming from 24F in Chicago. Walked past Solunto?s twice. Our waitress Juliana was attentive.Order glasses of Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. Shared a plate of Insalata Di Polipo, great salad with artichokes, blackolives, potatoes and tender octopus. The Cioppino was very good. Lots of seafood but I should have asked for it spicier. Mypartner wanted pesto. He ordered Fusilli Genoese, which was good, but he just wanted pesto, no chicken, dried tomatoes, etc. Icould leave without getting dessert(s). Read more

We stopped in for dessert to-go. The counter is filled with goodies galore. I wish things were designated by name. We chose... chocolate mousse cake and white Napoleon. The mousse cake was like a light, luscious chocolate cloud, while the Napoleon was agood representation of the cake, with gushy cream between crisp layers. I would love to try more of what they have!
