Wow, where do I begin. I came here from a recommendation and I cannot explain how happy I was to try it myself. Real authentic... flavors and fresh made-to-order dishes. The fried fish with the fresh herbs, noodle, was amazing but sadly they ran out of thepineapple sauce (no problem tho). The drunken noodles were a huge portion and perfectly cooked, seasoned, and had fresh veggiesand beef. HIGHLY recommend the dark-looking papaya salad as it had that delicious FUNK. Lastly, the Lao Famous plate had a bunchof goodies, but the Lao sausage was the star of the show in my opinion. All in all, it was busy (understandably) but servicewas very friendly and you can tell they made the food with love. I can't wait to go back when I'm in SD to try their otherdishes. Try it yourself if you get the chance. Read more

We were so hyped up for this place since we love Lao food! We asked for spicy level 4/5 and also got their spiciest sauce, both... were mild for us. We ordered their mama’s specials too… but tasted more Americanized. Over all try it for yourself, ourtaste buds are different. Read more

This is the spot if you’re looking for some authentic Lao food. Everything was delicious, and it really felt like we ordered... everything on their menu. I’m a huge fan of Lao food and make the effort to visit a Lao restaurant when I travel. I dorecommend ordering the food to go unless it’s cool out. I don’t think they have AC, as it was unbearably hot inside.Fortunately , i was able to skip all the super spicy items and leave that for the rest of my family. We ordered a lot ofdifferent dishes to try, but my favorites are the Nam Khao, Seen Lod, Sausages, Lemongrass Fried Chicken, and Pork Laab. Everydish was fresh and full of flavor. Service was very fast, even with our party of 11. The staff were very friendly and took greatcare of us. They’re located in a small corner retail area, but parking doesn’t seem to be an issue. Highly recommendchecking So Saap out. About average pricing for a Lao restaurant. Check out my photos for all the awesome dishes served here. Read more

This place is an absolute hidden gem. Almost literally hidden, Keep an eye out for this restaurant tucked in a corner at market... and 47th. Some of the best pad Thai I’ve ever had, and I make a point to sample pad Thai from all over the city. Look at thisgorgeous plate! Read more
