I like Smashburger - it's a cut above fast food. This restaurant is currently undergoing a remodel. You can't see that from... outside, so it was jarring when we opened the door. We weren't even sure the restaurant was open! All the interior seating isremoved. I only dine outdoors, so that was fine. It gives a wierd impression about cleanliness, though, since it feels more likea construction zone than a restaurant. Having said that, though, everything with which I actually interacted seemed clean. It'sbeen a little while since I visited. My perception is that portions are down and prices are up. Obviously, this severely hindersthe value proposition. I'm not sure it's better enough than fast food to justify the price premium. Best fast food, better than in and out. They do get busy you might want to avoid the rush, but if you go at the right times, the... food is excellent the best burger I've ever had and it's fast food? I can't believe it. I know one of the chefs I always gowhen they're working, the shorter guy Mike will do it right. They go the extra length to make sure everything is right, I got myColorado burger done perfectly. The girl in the front was really nice and sweet, and its always clean inside, and shakes arethe best. The only thing I recommend is avoid the rush, the food is better quality when it is done right, that's why alot ofthe reviews might vary, they're the only smash burger in San Diego and very busy and it's a decent size place, but you can tellthey're busy when you see the line out the door. But if it's done right, it's good, I've had many good burgers, but I love ithere is always fresh and basically every type of protein or topping you can make any combination you desire. I got the Coloradoburger with a regular bun, and it was melted and seared perfectly, and the peppers grilled perfectly black on one side but notsoggy. With a peanut butter shake and smash fries. There was a parking lot right in front of the restaurant, they have both indoor and outdoor seating but when we arrived there at... 9:30 pm Wednesday night, the staff told us that we can only do take out while there were still people sitting and eating inthere indoor seating area, I was confused but we did a takeout order anyway. They have a great selection of their burgers andsandwiches so I was really curious what sides and drinks they have but half of the menu screen was not working, I asked them ifthey can give me a paper menu but the staff said they don?t have one? My husband and I were shocked to see how small their foodwas, for the amount of food we paid for, it was too pricey. We first received our chocolate shake, there wasn?t any whippedcream on top, the cup was really small and it wasn?t even a full cup. Then we received the rest of our order but the bag seemedtoo light for me so we decided to check our order before we go and yes they missed our order???? We told them our fries weremissing so we waited for another ten minutes for the fries, I supposed that ten minutes they were making our order so I waswaiting patiently and really excited for our smash fries but surprisingly when I tried my fries the moment I received it, it wascold and again it wasn?t even full? And their burgers were really small too. The flavor of their fries and burgers were good,actually I really liked the rosemary they put in the fries but the fries were so thin and the burgers were so small, we werereally disappointed with our experience at Smashburger. This location has plenty of parking. It?s next to Tajima. Inside is spacious and so is outdoor seating. Their menu and photos... are all advertised for double but you?ll see the single option price in small font below to the right. We got the single baconsmash burger and single bbq bacon smash burger. Also smash burger fries and haystack onions. The bacon smash burger is atypical hamburger with lettuce and tomatoes while the bbq bacon smash burger is like a western burger. It?s sweet and has thehaystack onions which are like crispy thin fried onions that goes on green beans casserole. The smash burger fries are likegarlic fries. I finished my entire burger and I didn?t feel stuffed when normally I would only eat half a burger elsewhere dueto the size. If we do come back, we would both upgrade to the double due to the thin patty. It?s also full of sodium that got methirsty throughout the day. Their shakes are made with Haagen Dazs. yum! Read more

I love Smashburger I always get their bacon cheeseburger! the staff is very friendly and Clean wearing gloves and having... sanitary stations for you to wipe your hands. they have take out dining and dining outside! I recommend the Oreo shake! Read more
Absolutely horrible service. Waited for 30+ minutes asking for my son to go up a couple times and check if order is ready.... Finally I go up and ask and they say oh yeah it?s here. I asked did you all announce the order she says I don?t know then turnsaround and asks the person behind her and he shrugs. I take my food and go .btw it?s a good burger but not that good (20 bucksfor 2 burgers) Suggestion to smash burger take a lesson from your competition In n Out.
