I highly recommend Rubio?s. I used to live in San Diego, and would frequent Rubio?s. On my first trip back to SD in over 7... years, I was actually craving Rubio?s and ended up staying at a hotel right across the street from this Rubio?s location. Firstnight in SD = Rubio?s for dinner. I got the trio tacos, and the food was just as I remembered, delicious and a great value forthe money. The staff was also friendly. It is super good. Only had like 2 bad meals here out of many visits. Still always give the credit card machine a weird look for... asking for a tip before i even get my food, and the fact it's always to-go, what am I tipping for exactly? Read more
Rubio's used to be my favorite spot. I really like the seasoning and flavors. But in the past few years, pre covid, the portions... have gotten smaller and the seasonings seem to have changed. My partner begged to fo for fish tacos. This visit was disappointing. The fish tacos were scrawny. The chipotle salsa has an odd aftertaste. I miss Rubio's. Read more

The food was really good but the customer service was not the best. Came in at around 8pm an hour before they closed. Was... waiting for a good while before anybody came to see what I wanted. And the bigger lady with the braces had a really badattitude. Almost like she was just annoyed that I was there.
