We had oxtails, rice and peas, cabbage and fried plantain. Everything was very very good! We eat here every time we visit San... Diego. Owners are great people with great customer service. Best authentic Jamaican food we ever had. Will certainly return andwould definitely recommend. Go early!!!!!They sell out of oxtails quickly. Their jerk chicken is excellent as well. You will notbe disappointed unless you wait until late to go because they do sell out! The amount of food you get per entree is enough for 2people to share but this food is so good, you will want your own! Get your own!!! Read more

This place definitely passes the vibe check and has the menu of an authentic Jamaican spot. The brown stewed whole snapper came... in a good portion; the flavor was solid, the skin was tasty, and managed to stay crispy in the delicuous stew/juices it wasresting in.. two thumbs up for that! The red beans and rice, cabbage, and plantains were decent, not bad, but nothing memorable.I'm guessing the meats are the major highlights here and the sides are an afterthought. Though I didn't try any, I'd be eager totaste their muffins and rum punch/other beverages that all looked intriguing. Rock Steady is worth your time if you're cravingthe flavors of Jamaica. My wife is Jamaican, we have tried all the Caribbean/Jamaican places in SD County. This place is by far the best one, don?t... waste your $$ anywhere else. Make sure to go earlier in the day however (not after like 5PM), because they often sell out of thebest stuff for good reason! Read more

As a Jamaican it?s always risky finding a good Jamaican food spot but this was great. I enjoyed my food and the sorrel. Actually... I?d come back for the sorrel every day if I would. Lol but I got the oxtail with rice and peas. I finished my plate beforeleaving so that says something because I never finish food. Read more

One of the best Jamaican Food experiences I've had. I love their Jerk chicken which is extremely spicy *photo not shown* however... really tasty. Upon my visit here me and my wife brought a friend that lives down the street to join us. He wanted to get theirgoat curry, which prompted me to get the same. I saw that they had fried chicken on the menu, however decided to get the goatcurry after asking the server what would be the better option. She told me that the goat curry was their most popularchoice. It was amazingly delicious and I highly recommend ordering that dish if you love curry and goat meat. My wife orderedtheir Oxtail combination with rice, beans, cabbage, and a fried plantain. Most of their combination plates/meals come with thesteamed cabbage medley with a side of rice & beans. She also ordered a rum & fruit punch drink and I got their mango juicedrink. Place is clean, organized, friendly and accommodating service. The atmosphere is chill and enjoyed our visit here. Theyhave a stage and outside bar area adjecent to the patio section and it seems like they have live Reggae bands. Would love tovisit again when there is live performances. They are well worth 10 ????s. I will gladly give them a 5 ! Read more
