Reviews for Pizza on 5th in San Diego, CA
Pizza on 5th always has great food. Primarily pizza. Hard working family business. And one of the few places that stays open... after 2am to fulfill the cravings of all the party animals out and about. Read more
This hole in the wall has great pizza, pasta and prices. I ordered the ravioli and it was amazing. The sauce was very rich with... tomatoes and herbs, so good!!! Don’t let the exterior or the modest interior scare you off. These are real Italians and thefood is authentic. Expect comfort food not gourmet presentation. Read more
Friendly hostesses in the front, but once we got seated, it was all downhill. Our server was lacking patience and the food was... par at best. We had a slice of the pesto chicken pizza and buffalo chicken pizza with some calamari. Pizza was tasteless andthe calamari was fried as hard as a golf ball. Maybe an off day for them.....we hope. The one saving grace that kept this from being a one star review was the food. We ordered a margarita pizza and it was very... tasty. The crust wasn't thin but wasn't too fluffy either. The white sauce was very rich and buttery and the toppings were justright. What was disappointing was the service and atmosphere. It took a good minute of just standing by the entrance andlooking at one of the paper menus before anyone greeted us or asked us if we were dining in. We noticed the paper menu was verylimited for some reason so we checked google maps menu photos and found a more detailed menu that for some reason was not in theresteraunt. When we pointed this out to the waitress she said that those items are no longer on the menu, but when we mentionedthe margarita pizza that was on the old menu on google maps but missing from the menu in the resteraunt she then mentioned whatthe pizza had and that it was still available. We ordered the cheesey bread sticks as appetizers, the margarita pizza and twodrinks. We were surprised to see we were served paper plates, our pink lemonade was just a bottle of minute made, and my ArnoldPalmer was more than half ice. The dipping sauce for the bread sticks came in little plastic to go dipping cups and they werecold. We asked the waitress if they had warm dipping sauce and she simply told us no. We also had to ask the waitress fornapkins. Our waitress never returned after giving us our food and she never asked us if we needed anything else. She spend therest of our time there on the other end of the restaurant near the bar. I needed a refill on the Arnold Palmer as well as a boxfor the leftover pizza and our check. Eventually another employee, a lady in a white shirt who was behind the bar noticed thatwe were done eating and we kept turning around to look for our waitress. She was kind enough to come over to us and take care ofwhat we needed. Long story short, good pizza, horrible service, and the paper plates and minute Read more
The food was okay. I ordered chicken Alfredo and the sauce was thin and watery. I didn’t bother eating the chicken because it... didn’t look too promising. I ordered a margarita and it was absolutely disgusting. It tasted like cheap alcohol mixed withflavored water. The pizza was actually good, just super greasy. Read more
The food was obscenely overpriced and subpar. $20 for the blandest, measliest gyro sandwich—no side included. The food was... served on paper plates as well. I’d imagine this place only stays afloat due to functioning as a trap for tourists anddrunkards. Go literally anywhere else. Read more
