Ototo Sushi is one of my favorite sushi places ever! I go there a couple of times a month and always enjoy whatever I try. The... "Balboa" is one of my favorite specialty rolls, I always order an eel roll because it's my personal favorite, and theirCalifornia roll is always a good one to introduce to new sushi friends. The front outdoor patio is spacious and well-appointed,indoor seating is pretty open as well, parking in the shopping center parking lot is always plentiful, and service is alwaysefficient and friendly. The food is good and the space is nice, but the service is pretty bad, especially given the high standard of Japanese service. ... The dirty plates from the apps set on the table until we left. The water glasses were only refilled after chasing down staffand asking repeatedly. The staff are friendly and engaging. But they seem not to be aware of their duty to do more than bringyour food. We had to ask two people for plates and ramekins for soy sauce and it still took ages. I really want to like thisplace based on the people and food but the level of customer service is really surprisingly bad given how good and nice therest of the experience is. I doubt I?ll be back.
