Excellent ramen spot! The black smoke bomb was delicious. I'd also like to come back to try the spicy ramen. We also had the... Russian roulette takoyaki (one has wasabi)...tasty but I didn't get the Wasabi one. Read more

I been to their other location many times and we love how fresh is the food. we came to Hillcrest location to try the beef bowl... because the other location don?t serve beef ball for dinner and the food at Hillcrest is kind if cold and so so. Nice open patio for outdoor dining is always a huge plus for me. Great variety of ramen and curry?s. I tried the Akuma ramen. ... The spice lvl was mild but I enjoyed the broth a lot. The noodles were a tad more on the firm side but nothing crazy. Theservice and wait staff were ion top of everything with prompt service and cleaning. The tip is already billed onto your orderbefore you pay, finding that alittle odd but no biggie Read more

Took my friend for his birthday and got the roulette takoyaki. One of the 8 has Wasabi in it and he picked it on his first try.... The staff are super chill and accommodating and the food tastes exactly how I remembered it from my past trip to tokyo.Definitely try it out you won't be disappointed. Read more

Pretty decent spot if you?re craving ramen. I?d say probably 3/5 for the ramen, but the service was excellent and there was zero... wait. See a lot of complaints about the ordering/service process, but didn?t mind it at all (lots of ramen joints in Japan dokiosk ordering, so I don?t see the big deal). The surcharge helps out the waitstaff as far as I can tell - if you don?t want toadd extra tip, you don?t have to feel compelled to. Back to the ramen - large portions, tasty broth (although the vegan brothwas a bit sweet for my liking.) Addition of ginger is something I don?t see much, and the egg was hard boiled but cold, notmolten on the inside. I?d probably go with the tonkatsu if I go back. Read more

I'll start with the pros, There teas are amazing and location wasn't too busy. There slow cooked eggs slapped! Really yummy. The... bamboo shoots had a hint of somthing but i couldn't figure out what it was. The portions where nicely sized but expected them tobe based on the price. The flavors where all there. Pretty delicious. They are quite expensive when adding extras and parkingwas a pain to find. They where a bit heavy on the ginger. Overall if your a college student or someone that money doesn't comeas easy, i would recomend finding an other spot. Not much bang for you buck here. And with covid some tables felt a little tootight, as in they have shields that box you in and its like kinda claustrophobic in a way. I understand they do this to protectothers. They do have patio seating but make sure to bring a jacket. 3.7 overall score. Read more
